Adrian Mannarino continued his brilliant 2023 campaign by capturing the Astana Open title on Tuesday, beating Sebastian Korda 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the final. Mannarino came back from a set and a break down to triumph after two hours and 10 minutes.

The left-handed Frenchman reeled off five consecutive games to take the second set and never looked back in the third. It is his second ATP title of the season, having previously lifted the Newport trophy. Mannarino has now won four ATP titles overall in his career.

Currently ranked 34th, the 35-year-old is expected to reach No. 23 in the world next week. His career-high ranking is No. 22. Mannarino’s 37 main-tour match victories in 2023 mark the biggest number of his career.

“At the beginning of the match I was not feeling my best,” Mannarino commented. “I was a little tight. And then when I was down in the second set I started to try and enjoy the match and play with less stress. I tried some tough shots and it worked out pretty well. I got a bit lucky to come back in the second set and then in the third set I was feeling better. I am pretty happy with that match.”

Both Mannarino and Korda will now head to the Shanghai Masters, which begins on Wednesday.
