    • Awwwh, this is a wonderful story Vrael! Well written piece by Rashada!

It’s not a surprise the immense impact Rafa has on so many lives. I mean I remember the first time I met Rafa in 2008 at the US Open. Well my experience was nothing like Rashada’s obviously, he never smiled at me or touched my cheek, lol! But just being in his company and getting an autograph was wonderful. But what’s even more surreal was watching him play especially at Roland Garros. It was an item on my bucket list and i decided that I HAD to experience Rafa play in the flesh before her retired, and in 2019 i thought it was my best chance bcoz i felt he was going to throw in the towel any time soon……but he’s still playing after 3 years, lol!!

However, I plan to travel next year to visit Rafa’s academy. It would be fantastic if he’s in town, but even if he’s not I won’t care……just being there would be good enough for me. Perhaps if anyone here is interested maybe we can plan to meet there…..make it a fans’ lime, lol!!!. I think it would be great!!! Vrael, Nadline, NNY, Amy, anyone?!!! What do you think?!

    • That was a beautiful story. Rafa really touched this young woman in a profound way. It does not surprise me in the least that he was so generous and kind to this woman.

Vamos Rafa! You go to Wimbledon and show Novak who’s boss!

My intention is to try to play at Wimbledon. On Monday I travel to London and see how the training week goes. I will train there for a week and play an exhibition match in Hurlingham.

I’m not used to talking about my personal life because I’m already exposed enough. For peace of mind and the way we understand life together with the people I live with, we like to have a lower profile and in accordance with our privacy. That said, and if all goes well, I’m going to be a father. I don’t know how this is going to change my life, but I don’t expect it to change my professional career.

Thank you all for the love and respect you have always had.

  2. Moral victory to Rafa once again. The pressures been of him all year, injury after injury and his fans playing down his chances at every turn. Then he makes a miraculous recovery. Same will happen at Wimby no doubt. Nole really messed up by being the bad boy at the AO .

  3. Who is willing to manifest with me that Rafa will win wimby ? I don’t know why I somehow feel something big is lined up at wimby.

Anyone for a rafaole final with rafa winning. That will be so perfect

    • I don’t know that Rafa will win Wimby for sure. I do know that if he does play there then it means he believes he can win. Winning the AO was my priority for Rafa. Now that he has done it, Wimby was my second priority. I am happy for him that he won another RG. It is very important to him. But I would love to see him win another Wimby.

  4. Rafa will need a kinder draw this wimby guys. A nightmare one like RG this year will make it almost impossible for Rafa, but i have hopes.

Hi mona, i am planning to get to paris next year to see rafa play at RG. Hopefully I’ll be able to check off this bucketlist item next year.

    • Oh great, Vrael!!Oh I hope that you are able to tick this item on ure bucket list. It should be fantastic!

I do hope Rafa gets a better draw this time bcoz his ranking should have improved. I would not be surprised though if they include huge servers in his draw, like Kyrios, Skapo, Isner etc.

As for Novak, I find it harsh that he is banned for 3 years at the AO. Sad way to have ure legacy tarnished. Imagine Rafa being banned at the French. Uffffff!

      • True. Only 3 players in the Open era have won a slam beating 4 top 10 players and Rafa is now one of them.
I really don’t want him to face NK again as he did last time he played wimby. Let Novak play him! NK has a winning head to head against everyone in the top 8 except Rafa and is a nightmare on grass, especially if you get him early on.

        • No way do I want to see NK in Rafa’s draw! Let Novak have the nightmare draw for once.

NK gets pumped up when he plays Rafa. He doesn’t like him, so he is motivated to try to beat him.

          • Yes!!! A lot of players get motivated to beat Rafa, I really don’t get that, lol!!! I get that it’s a notch on the belt etc etc, but it just seems to be a little more than that! It’s like bcoz Rafa is so successful beating him makes other players feel like he is not that good after all…….he’s more like us, lol!

With Kyrios it’s just envy, lol! But it won’t surprise me really if Rafa”s draw is packed with big servers and hard hitters. But over time Rafa has become increasingly adept in handling them, especially on the return side of things. I don’t c any player that is serious trouble for Rafa except if he’s having a bad day. Novak is just scar tissue. The only reason I think that Rafa may fall short on winning Wimby is his foot or if someone if really playing out of their skin!

However, I’ll still remain cautiously optimistic as in tennis anything can happen.

          • Meeting a truly talented player , who doesnt rely on physicality and doesnt even try that hard,Rafa might struggle. When the going gets tough…

          • Talented yes, player not so much. He’s lazy and self-indulgent and eager for limelight, any way he can get it. I find him pathetic.

  5. It’s time Djokovic meets Kyrgios in a slam. Why is it always Rafa? Rafa has played Kyrgios 9 times, 3 times in slams and Djokoic has only played him twice in a 500 and M1000.

Kyrgios is 3:6 against Rafa and 2:0 against Djokovic.

  6. 🤣🤣🤣 NNY, reason y I say that is before, Rafa played Novak timid except at FO bcoz Novak had beaten him 7x in a row. Now I don’t think Rafa feels intimidated by Nole anymore! He knows how to beat Novak on clay or off clay!

I agree too, Nadline! Novak fans complain about Rafa always getting easy draws while at slams, especially, Novak always escapes those players that tend to trouble him! Unlike with Rafa, u will sure to find the likes of Fognini, Kyrios, Shapo etc. Let’s c what happens at Wimby, mind u I’m not holding my breath!

Rafa is supposed to be arriving in London today. Any news?!

    • Mona,

I loved it! Scar tissue! How perfect! I do think Rafa feels more comfortable when he plays Novak. He knows it will be tough. He says it was a brutal match after he beat him at RG. Rafa is in a good place.

He did not go to London to see the sights. He is there on a mission. Now all he needs is a decent draw!

          • Why don’t you stop acting like some superior person! Always looking for an argument! Pathetic! Just grow up!

You don’t even understand the context in which it was said. Mona should be offended, too.

You have some nerve coming on Rafa’s forum page to try to stir up trouble!

    • Well I guess we all get to decide what is humorous these days. Like someone posting that article by two cyclists trying to say that Rafa had performance enhancing benefits from numbing his foot at RG!

So I guess I can find it humorous if Mona calls Novak scar tissue! Interesting how when the shoe is on the other foot, then it’s not humorous. Yes I felt the same way about that stupid article.

      • At least the article was a valid topic for discussion,I’m not so sure calling someone scar tissue is.
        Have a good afternoon

  7. When they stopped their practice Dimi was winning 6-3, 2-1.
Apparently Rafa was double faulting a lot! The thing I want him to improve is his serve…

      • I assume that the double faults may well be him trying to get his serve going. In practice he can afford to double fault if he is trying to work on that serve.

        • Yes I did wonder about that and good if he is going for more.
But his serve really wasn’t great at RG and he has to improve it for grass.
I take the point nny made at RG that his serve has deteriorated after the run injury. I haven’t been watching so can’t comment from my own experience but am sure what she says is true.
Maybe Rafa was a bit cautious after the injury and will now relax and go for more? Obviously though part of the problem at RG was his first serve going missing at regular intervals..

          • amy,

I hope that Rafa can get his serve working well again. It is very important on grass. Maybe with the foot being better Rafa will feel more comfortable. Also the rib seems okay. I am fine with him double faulting in practices if it helps him to get that serve working.

  8. The fact that moya has not joined them really upsets me .rafa has never won a slam without moya by his side. .each of his slam win had Moya with him ..i don’t trust riog or Lopez , Moya is what rafa needs for confidence .

Anyone knows if moya will join later ?

It was first match on grass in 3 years, I’ll give rafa some time to improve..yes he needs an easy first week..

The qtrs are going to be hell .imagine Alcaraz ,mateo ,FAA and hurackz are seeds 5-8..each of the top 4 will have their hands full as Mateo n Hubert play very well on grass, FAA is danger on grass esp after 5 setter at rg..Alcaraz is always pumped up .

    Tsiti n Casper r both weak 3 n 4 .

    • I want Moya to be there as well but he has never been at wimby before with Rafa so I doubt he will be there…
I agree that his presence could make the crucial difference for Rafa to win…

  9. You guys r really in the ball here with the info 🤣🤣!!

I’m actually really looking forward to Wimby though!! I’m guessing if Rafa gets a decent draw he’ll make a good push. But win or lose I’ll still be proud of him bcoz deep down I know the guys on tour will try their darnest for Rafa not to win another major 🤣😂😂🤣!! He has a BIG target on his back!! And Rafa too knows it!! Even if Rafa gets a decent draw his matches will be tricky bcoz everyone will be gunning for him, lol! Poor poor Rafa, he is a victim of his own success!!!!

Anyway, what pre grass tourneys is Rafa playing?

Off-Court Coaching Trial Announced For Second Half Of 2022 Season

    Jun21 2022
    ATP Staff
Trial will begin from the week of 11 July 2022

The ATP has announced that ‘off-court’ coaching will be trialled for the second half of the season. The trial will permit coaching from designated coach seats during qualifying and main draw matches at ATP Tour events, starting from the week of 11 July 2022.

The trial will also take place at the US Open and will run through to the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals in Turin in November.

Various coaching rules have been trialled across the sport in recent years, including on-court coaching and coaching via headsets. Today’s announcement brings alignment for the second half of the season across the ATP Tour, US Open and Hologic WTA Tour, where an off-court coaching trial is already in place.

In addition to ensuring consistency across the sport for the benefit of players and fans, the trial aims to create additional points of intrigue and insight to enhance the fan experience.

Off-court coaching will be permitted under the following conditions:

Coaches must sit in the tournament’s designated coach seats

Coaching (verbal and non-verbal) is allowed only if it does not
interrupt play or create any hindrance to the opponent

Verbal coaching is permitted only when the player is at the same end of the court

Non-verbal coaching (hand signals) is permitted at any time

Verbal coaching may consist of a few words and/or short phrases (no conversations are permitted)

Coaches may not speak to their player when the player leaves the court for any reason

Penalties and fines will still apply for abuse or misuse of the above coaching conditions

The trial will be collectively evaluated at the end of the 2022 season, to assess potential inclusion of off-court coaching in subsequent seasons.

  11. Is anyone watching Rafa at Hurlingham? I can’t get pictures from the live stream😪
Journos are saying Rafa is playing really well!

  12. I am watching Novak playing now. I got up too late to see Rafa. Bad night with allergies. I will try to see his match on Friday.
