Heading into the last day of round-robin competition in Group Jimmy Connors at the ATP Finals, all four participants–Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, and Lorenzo Musetti–are still alive. Two will qualify for the semifinals on Thursday.
The matchups are Fritz vs. De Minaur during the day session and Alcaraz vs. Musetti at night.
Here are the semifinal qualifying scenarios, per the ATP website.
1) Regardless of score, if C. ALCARAZ defeats L. MUSETTI and T. FRITZ defeats A. DE MINAUR, then C. ALCARAZ wins the group and T. FRITZ qualifies 2nd.
2) Regardless of score, if L. MUSETTI defeats C. ALCARAZ and A. DE MINAUR defeats T. FRITZ, then L. MUSETTI wins the group and C. ALCARAZ qualifies 2nd.
3) If C. ALCARAZ defeats L. MUSETTI in 2 sets and A. DE MINAUR defeats T. FRITZ in 2 sets, then C. ALCARAZ wins the group and A. DE MINAUR qualifies 2nd.
4) If C. ALCARAZ defeats L. MUSETTI in 2 sets and A. DE MINAUR defeats T. FRITZ in 3 sets, then C. ALCARAZ wins the group and T. FRITZ qualifies 2nd.
5) If C. ALCARAZ defeats L. MUSETTI in 3 sets and A. DE MINAUR defeats T. FRITZ in 2 sets, then C. ALCARAZ wins the group and A. DE MINAUR qualifies 2nd.
6) If C. ALCARAZ defeats L. MUSETTI in 3 sets and A. DE MINAUR defeats T. FRITZ in 3 sets, then C. ALCARAZ wins the group and T. FRITZ qualifies 2nd.
7) If L. MUSETTI defeats C. ALCARAZ in 2 sets and T. FRITZ defeats A. DE MINAUR in 2 sets, then T. FRITZ wins the group and L. MUSETTI qualifies 2nd.
