Lorenzo Musetti was briefly in the Miami Open draw but ended up withdrawing earlier this week. Musetti still has not fully recovered from the leg injury he sustained while leading Novak Djokovic two sets to love in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
The Italian returned in Indian Wells but lost his opening match in easy straight sets to Marton Fucsovics.
“Hi everyone,” Musetti wrote on social media. “Unfortunately I have to pull out of the Miami Open. I love playing here, but just need a bit of time to feel 100% out on the court. Appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you all during the clay season!”
It is an important clay season, too, for the world No. 5. He has 2,250 points to defend during the European swing on the heels of an outstanding 2025 campaign (650 from the Monte-Carlo final, 400 from the Madrid semifinals, 400 from the Rome semis, and 800 from the French Open semis).
Musetti has been replaced in the Miami draw by Aleksandar Vukic, who gets a bye to the second round.
