    • So what gives with Rafa? Is he in Manarco training or hoping back and forth training in Manarco and partying in Ibiza?

“Who is the G.O.A.T. in tennis?

“Roger Federer, no doubts about that! He is the best, but I think there is a chance for Rafael Nadal to overtake him. Also Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras have been legends, but Federer is better than them”.

Who is the hardest player to play against?

“Rafael Nadal! He really is a tough opponent and a great tennis player”.

    • Xisca said once that she stays away from events because she knows the paps would be all over them and that’s not what they want. Xisca didn’t attend the ceremony when Rafa was honoured in Madrid either but she was with him in Wimbledon.

      • Well, that’s the price Rafa has to pay for being a celebrity, constant intrusions into his private life. Unlike some (Caroline Wizniacki comes to mind) Rafa has never milked his relationship with Xisca for publicity so even if he and Xisca were to break up it would remain a private matter.

I doubt we’ll ever see Rafa and Xisca in a Hello! cover pose, thank goodness.

  2. RT @AllistairMcCaw: “Haters don’t actually hate you, they just feel threatened and jealous of you that’s all. It means you have something they don’t.”

    Amen.

    • Exactly. I think everyone knows that those who hate Rafa are simply jealous of him. One Fedfan on TW says what annoys him most is that Rafa fans like him more for his looks and if Fed looked like Rafa all Rafa fans would be Fedfans. That is testimony to why some people hate Rafa.

      Rafa’s got it all.

  3. Maria Francisca Perello who is also known as Xisca has finally joined her boyfriend and one of the best tennis players of all time Rafael Nadal on his holidays and ended the rumours that their relationship was on rocks.

Nadal and Xisca were childhood friends and they started dating almost ten years ago. Since then, Xisca mostly joins the Spanish star when he takes a break from tennis and then they spend holidays together.

However, Xisca was nowhere to be seen since Nadal’s current break started after his loss in the fourth round of Wimbledon in the beginning of July. We were seeing thousands of pictures of Nadal with his friends and fans on a cruise, at the beach and during parties in Ibiza but his girl friend was absent…………………….

  4. Couldn’t help commenting on the following article, in the wake of all the speculation about Rafa and Xisca:

    http://espn.go.com/espn/hot?id=11244317

“The breakup of Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy was the best thing that could ever have happened between them. Seriously, this relationship was too public for their own good, with perpetual tweeting and made-up monikers like Wozziroy.”

This is what people want of Rafa and Xisca, to feed people’s insatiable voyeurism. Thank goodness Rafa and Xisca are too grown up, and comfortable in their own skins to be seduced by notoriety. I have NEVER seen Rafa tweet about Xisca and vice versa.

Stay humble, Rafa! Let those whose private lives are less interesting than yours speculate……….

  5. I appreciate Rafa keeping his private life private. He doesn’t answer questions about his girlfriend and seems determined to keep her out of the limelight as much as possible. He does have some boundaries, some places that he just will not go. I think it’s another example of Rafa’s wisdom and maturity beyond his years.

  6. Rafans, I am not posting this to upset you. Trust me, these constant slights at Rafa no longer upset me like they used to, but I thought I would comment on this latest one anywhere:

“Novak Djokovic is back at No. 1; Rafael Nadal at No. 2. This isn’t a surprise, considering how hot Djokovic was at the end of 2013, and how many points Nadal had to defend this spring. That goes double when you think about Rafa’s history at No. 1—he’s never held the spot for back-to-back seasons—and the history of the Nadal/Djokovic rivalry. You can usually bet that the one in second place will eventually be back in first. Still, with the number of points Nadal has to defend through the U.S. Open, it looks like Djokovic will have a decent run at No. 1 before it’s Rafa’s turn again.”

Why doesn’t Tiggy mention the number of points Novak has to defend through the US Open and after? Didn’t he win literally everything post US Open? I know, I know, the unspoken assumption is that Novak will defend his points and Rafa won’t.

It’s okay, Rafa will surprise them all………………as usual.

      • The Federazzi is taking desperate measures. They desperately praised Fed after losing in the Wimbledon final to Djoko and they desperately want Rafa to lose to Djoko.

    • I agree with Tiggy.

As soon as he brings defending points into the equation, he’s not talking about year end, just the summer and early fall as defending points have nothing to do with year end. (let’s not get into that again please?)

He’s currently just 500 points behind Nole. However, virtually ZERO chance of Rafa getting back to No. 1 until Paris or WTF as during the summer, he has to win Toronto, Cincy and USO, jut to keep pace. He has 5000 points to defend during that time (compared to just 1740 for Nole).

Rafa can still finish No. 1, but it won’t be before Paris at the earliest and more likely would require Rafa to do better than Nole at WTF.

Guess that just makes be federazzi again. 🙄

  7. Clear where Rafa’s priorities lie:

RT @SportsCentered :OFF-HAND Serena Williams and Ana Ivanovic will play in Manila acc to IPTL organizers. Nadal, Djoko might not come, though.”
