^^Please don’t tell me you expected different from Roger-x blog? It’s kinda funny how grown men (and women) immerse themselves in the aggrandizing of a tennis player that they lose all sense, never mind that of the common variety. You can almost feel Sean Randall WILLING Rafa to fail. According to him, Rafa’s back problems are terminal but not Roger’s, huh? Novak is now back on his way to the promised land because………… he beat an untested old man in the final.
I actually am grateful for their consistency. If they turned around and actually started appraising Rafa’s potential honestly, I would be worried.
I will say this for Nole fans though: when he loses, they just quietly disappear. You won’t find them putting Novak down, disparaging his technique, his coach, imploring him to fire Vajda, gratuitously praising his opponents at his expense, calling him a has-been, lashing out at his other fans, whining about how he let THEM down by losing blah, blah, blah.
They are not in it for the glory. They are there for the man, not the other way round.
Maybe they bitch about him when he loses, hence the disappearing acts. Still, kudos to them for doing it in private, if they do at all.

Are you sure? I have read: “Rafa Nadal will travel to Toronto (Canada) for the Rogers Cup starting August 2nd.”
(I understand that the tournament starts on August 2nd)
Gussie, check the ATP website, the Rogers tournament is slated to start on 04-08-2014. My sources could be wrong about Rafa’s departure date, I don’t know for sure.
Pleeeaaaaasssssssseee Rafa, defend your title. Pleeeeeaaaaaaasssssseeeeeeeee!
Try and impress sanju, because his opinion of your tennis skills is not very high. Maybe, just maybe, one day you will be able to impress him and show him that you are a great tennis player.
When did I say I am not impressed by him? I love him but then my expectations of him are very high too. I will be that way till he gets to 17 + slams and yes atleast 2 out of balance 3 should come from non RG so that it is a well balanced tally.
I want a situation where no one can raise any questions on Rafa, no insinuations of clay dominaing his slam tally ..fair and square all round greatness and appreciation undisputed.
Rafael Nadal Next Tournament Rogers Cup 2014
Monday, July 7th, 2014 at 4:12 am News by Peter Johnson
World No. 2 Rafael Nadal is scheduled to play next ATP tournament at the 2014 Rogers Cup, which will kick off from 4th August on outdoor hard courts held at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club in Canada.
14-time singles Grand slam winner Rafael Nadal is going to return back to action for training, ahead of the 2014 Rogers Cup Tournament next month. King of clay will begins training on hard courts soon and hopes to prepare well for the upcoming American hard court season. Spaniard is going to defend Rogers Cup next month, where he had defeated Canadian Milos Raonic in last year’s final in consecutive sets with a 6–2, 6–2.
28-year-old Rafael Nadal is aiming to clinch Rogers Cup for fourth time in his career, but he can face big challenge against his rivals World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, Swiss legend Roger Federer and Great Britain star Andy Murray. Nadal, who had showed great performance last year on American soil, he is looking forward to continue similar form to dominate hard courts season, ahead of the US Open.
Rafa total: 6,020
Canada 1,000
Cincinnati 1,000
US Open 2,000
Beijing 300
Shanghai 360
Paris 360
WTF 1,000
Novak total: 5,740
Canada 360
Cincy 180
US Open 1,200
Beijing 500
Shanghai 1,000
Paris 1,000
WTF 1,500
Rafa had an outstanding Fall last year, numbers don’t lie. He out-performed Novak. He has his work cut out this Fall. I will be happy if he cuts back on his schedule and just concentrates on the Slam and Masters, minus Paris. I hope he drops Beijing and Paris.
I especially love this comment from the comment section:
“Only me, UK, United Kingdom, says:
You can tell he’s just a brilliant, normal, sensible, down-to-earth bloke and he feels comfortable with his sexuality. He doesn’t feel the need to be seen with a harem of ladies and enjoys being with his real friends. And most importantly, he doesn’t mind what people think ! Lovely, very well rounded guy ! We love you, Rafa.”
^^I forgot to say why I was picking Rafa, all in total objectivity of course! 😉
1. His “fear-hand” as Brad Gilbert calls it;
2. His granite mental strength. He treats both impostors, success and failure, the same. A lost point is treated the same as a won point. He moves on.
3. His smart serve. Not the biggest, not the best but in my mind one of the smartest;
4. His transition game, one of the best on Tour, if not THE best. Nobody transitions from defence to offence better, nobody.
5. His net game, one of the best. The best of all time in this respect, Johnny Mac says Rafa has the best net game on Tour, I believe him.
6. His refusal to lose, when he sets his mind to it.
7. Last but not least, his intelligence, especially as applied on court. He will bring his HC game, have a strategy for each opponent and if necessary change that strategy mid-match if the situation warrants it.
Novak can have a let down after winning Wimby just like Andy had last year after his Wimby loss. Novak will also be a bit engrossed with his wedding, baby and Rafa should exploit the situation and go for the kill
Are there any federazzi on this site? Because I don’t see any!
I guess it’s all in some people’s minds. After all, a few are the self-appointed so-called “true” Rafa fans. But Rafa doesn’t insult others, especially his rivals. He gives them respect. He would never question anyone who said they were his fan. He’s a good, decent person who would never attack or disparage anyone.
The Stuttgart tourney will be on grass and immediately after the French Open, according to the 2015 ATP World Tour calendar. Tourneys in Halle and Queen’s will be a week later.
^^I think he should play a grass lead up tournament even if he gets bounced in the first round. At least next year he will have a week to rest after (winning 🙂 RG!
Novak has lost the last four slam matches against Rafa. 0-4. (The SF loss at the French in 2013 was the final for all intents and purposes.)
Of course, by comparison, Federer has lost the last six slam meetings vs Nadal – three on clay, two on hard court and one on grass, all of two of which were finals.
Murray has lost the last five slam meetings vs Nadal- two on clay, two on grass and one on hard court – all semis interestingly.
So, from that standpoint, on a positive note, Nole is doing better in that regard than both Fed and Muzza.
Rafa really does have the other Top 4′s numbers in slams lately on more than just clay.
Thank you for this bit of research @hawkeye63. Now, you tell me nobody in the commercial corridors of power has done the same research, and come to the same conclusions, and their ramifications?
Yep, some people believe restaurants increased portion sizes because they couldn’t bear to see people go home hungry.

Yeah, was a good session of photos, long one. But hopefully the result are satisfactory, so… I worked very hard, seriously (laughter). So, yeah, was nice. A different experience and I enjoyed.

Will Stuttgart be grass next year and will it be played before Wimby?
Yes to both.

The Stuttgart tourney will be on grass and immediately after the French Open, according to the 2015 ATP World Tour calendar. Tourneys in Halle and Queen’s will be a week later.
If Stuttgart plays immediately after RG that’s no good for Rafa. He needs a week to recover from the RG exertions.
Halle has been a disappointment for Rafa, so he might as well try Stuttgart although I think he should skip a grass warm-up altogether.
^^I think he should play a grass lead up tournament even if he gets bounced in the first round. At least next year he will have a week to rest after (winning 🙂 RG!

No wonder so many cheer when Nadal goes out before meeting the other Top 4.
They need someone else to do the job for them!
This is why draws are continually stacked against him.
