    • ^^which I hope Rafa loses, Novak promptly tells the world he has Rafa’s #, and Rafa thrashes him in the final at AO………………..

  1. ‘Rafa vs his brother Tomeu’ is a charity project!
    —The Good Hand Project
A CHARITY project born in the heart of the poker community, which seeks to mobilise as many people as possible in the social networks. How? Through various challenges that Rafa Nadal and his brother, Tomeu, will face, seeking people’s support. Why? Because all the Facebook “likes”, retweets and YouTube views achieved will be converted into MONEY to fund an important social cause: to HELP young people find work.—

    • Wow!

Is this a good thing? I mean, this seems so involved, won’t it “eat” into his tennis time? I know people need help NOW, but this seems like something Rafa should do after retirement……………

Haven’t you heard that Rafa has been involved in charity work for many years?! He was awarded as the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian in 2011!

—Rafa wins Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year [2011] ATP award.
The Spaniard joined Roger Federer, Carlos Moya, former South African president Nelson Mandela and Arthur Ashe as winners of the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, recognized for his contributions through the Rafa Nadal Foundation. The Foundation, a recipient of a 2011 ATP ACES For Charity grant, offers educational programes for socially disadvantaged youth using sport as a tool for personal and social integration. The Foundation is currently affiliated with three projects, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation in Antapur, India; the Special Olympics; and the Aldeas Infantiles SOS, a private international aid organisation which cares for children in vulnerable situations.—

      • augusta08, but this goodhand project says Rafa and his “brother” will be doing tasks sort of on a competitive basis. Rafa does not do daily tasks for his India project, he raises money in an exho and sends the money to his Foundation for them to use to run the projects!

My concern is that this goodhand project, while noble, seems to demand his time on a more frequent basis…………….

  2. @Ricky 2:34 pm. Oh, of course, just as Benito handles his Twitter account! It’s so obvious it’s not Rafa sending out those tweets and yet he is the most followed tennis pro!

  3. For those of you who want to watch Rafa and David’s match, I believe I’ve found a link for it. It’s being shown on a local station, ATV channel 9. Here’s is the link to their website. On the right hand side, you can see the schedule for the programming. Everything is in Spanish, of course. If you click on the current program, it streams without any problem. The match is at 2 pm Lima time (11 am for me), but for those U.S. viewers on the East Coast, Lima time is the same, so 2 pm for you. http://atv.tuteve.tv/

    • Rafa’s exhibition schedule for November.
17th Nov. Jockey Club, Lima, Peru, vs David Ferrer
20th Nov. Movistar Arena, Santiago, Chile, vs Novak Djokovic
21st Nov. Orfeo Superdomo, Cordoba, Argentina, vs David Nalbandian (one of Nalbandian’s farewell matches)
23rd Nov. La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina, vs David Nalbandian (one of Nalbandian’s farewell matches)
24th Nov. La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina, vs Novak Djokovic

      • Chloro, I went to the official site for the Movistar arena where the match will be held. It didn’t say what the surface would be. It’s your basic all purpose arena where all different kinds of things are held, including concerts. I got a kick out of the English translation of one of the sentences though. It translated to: “Novak and Rafael, are the stars of grief that has been repeated more times in the history of ATP…” Stars of grief, indeed.

  4. I’m sure most of them will be shown on the local TV stations, just as this one was. His next match is on the 20th against Novak. I’ll post the link on this thread once it’s available. Basically, I troll all of the various Rafa Facebook pages and find out what local TV station will carry the match, then I find the station on the internet. Just before the match, links are usually posted on a couple of the Rafa fan Facebook pages, too, but I like to find them ahead of time.

  5. I think Rafa should boycott this up-coming exho with Djoker if this is how the exho promoters are advertising it: The #1 vs The #1. This is false advertising, insulting to Rafa and down-right outrageous.

It’s the #1 vs The #2, not the #1 vs the #1. If they so want to kiss up to Djokovic then they should have him on his own. For me, the offence is enough to put me off watching the stream, thank you very much.

I will not be party to putting Rafa down like this…………..

ps: I don’t care to read further what they say in the rest of the article, what’s written in that picture says it all.

  6. Not content with trying to upstage Rafa, the Djoker has no qualms about insulting his Argentinian hosts, sending through a preferred diet plan in advance (gluten free, of course), no Argentinian beef on the menu……………

    sacré bleu!

“Rafael Nadal has not expressed preferences for the meal plan , well informed about the quality and variety of cuisine offered by Buenos Aires .

The Serb , who disputes this weekend ‘s Davis Cup final in Belgrade , as a form of celiac has sent through his agent Artaldi Edoardo , who travels to London champion , his strict diet : oatmeal gluten-free coconut water bottled still water ( 500 cc format ) , fresh vegetables and fruit smoothies, mix of fresh berries , bananas , avocado , fresh salads, gluten-free pasta , steamed vegetables ( such as broccoli , carrots , cauliflower ), chicken / turkey and white fish (all steamed or grilled, without sauces or creams ) . Apparently , the classic roast in Argentina whereby any foreigner is entertained not in the plans of the Serbian tennis player .”

Rafa, of course, is the dream guest, content to let his hosts entertain him…………

poor lady…she must have spent hours thinking of Rafa and his underwear and that’s why she was being so cloddish and rather pathetic to ask a question like that…did she really think people would find her funny?! I think she only made a fool of herself…
