  1. hawkeye,

It was enlightening, to say the least, to read what happened with deucy in the past. It’s no wonder that she felt the need to leave. It’s a disturbing pattern that has continued in her absence.

All she said was that she thinks, thinks being the operative word here, that Uncle Tony is a bully! So what! That’s called giving an opinion! She was getting trashed for anything she said that might even remotely be considered not fulsome and unconditional praise of Rafa.

This business of reposting past comments of people here all the time, does feel like stalking, to be honest. It’s disturbing in a lot of ways. At least if I make a mistake, I will own it.

Now if I had said that Rafa had cramping in his match against Smycek, then we know who would have jumped in to correct me and say that it was stomach cramps! Own it if you are wrong.

I am wondering how it happened that YOU are in charge of deciding who is entitled to “GIVING AN OPINION” and who is not. 🙂

      • She didn’t say that. Again, you are wearing a tired, continually thickening damaged filter.

You are not a good Rafan. That is my opinion. You are a troll of the worse kind. In my opinion of course.

        #ObligatorySmileyFace 🙂

      • augusta,

As usual, you completely distort the issue. I never said that I am on charge of deciding who is entitled to giving an opinion.

Maybe you should reread what deucy said again. I merely stated that using the word “think”, as in – I think Uncle Toni is a bully – is in fact stating her opinion. She is not saying I know that he is a bully, I am sure he is a bully, I have it on good authority that he is a bully.

Really, it’s not that hard unless you are deliberately changing things up to make it seem as though I said something that I did not. You do it all too often here, unfortunately.

Deucy was attacked for giving her thoughts about Uncle Toni. If you don’t know the difference between stating an opinion and stated facts, then you are in big trouble.

I am growing increasingly weary of you willfully misconstruing what I say, and also others on this site.

      • “I am growing increasingly weary of you willfully misconstruing what I say, and also others on this site.”

        That is her intended goal.

Aside: Uncle T. IS a bully and Rafa has OCD. Even RITB said so.

      • I will only say this for the record one last time. Everyone here is entitled to give their opinions. They are also free to state facts and/or stats to back up their opinions and or arguments. Other people are also free to give differing opinions in response. It’s called a discussion. You might have heard of it.

The issue that I have is when someone gives an opinion and then gets personally attacked for doing so. That’s what happened to deucy as illustrated in the link posted of the conversation. There is a difference between disagreeing with what someone says, as opposed to attacking what they have said. If you tell someone that their comment, opinion or belief is silly, stupid, bad, crazy, delusional, irrational, to give examples, then you are not simply disagreeing with them. You are attacking what they said and demeaning it.

        This is not complicated.

This is Ricky’s site. He makes the rules. No one else.

I expressed MY opinion when I responded to her! I am entitled to give MY opinion if I so wish, according to YOUR own sentence!

Exactly! And because of that, please avoid lecturing and attacking other posters!

        🙂

    • Very well said nny. Don’t debate the poster’s motives or question their character or how they’ve been influenced. Agree/debate the position/opinion taken on it’s own.

      It’s not rocket science.

      • augusta,

I did NOT attack RITB! In fact, she was the one who took issue with the fact that I had the temerity to disagree with her comments. She accused me of going after her in some way and criticizing what she says. That’s what we are supposed to do!

If you are referring the comment about losing the paranoia, that’s exactly how I saw her response. If anyone should get upset, it’s me because my posts are dissected, parsed and even quoted back to me. You go digging up anything I posted and do it all the time. Should I accuse you of singling me out the way RITB did to me? No, because you do it to others here.

You seem to think that you are the self-righteous pious righter of wrongs and the decider of who should be called out personally. I don’t act in the way you described and I take great exception to your characterization of my conduct and behavior on this site. You are the one who acts like this is your site. You attacked me personally in your latest responses. Your quotes of my comments do not make the points you are trying to make.

You make this personal. You did it with deucy and even offered to go looking up her other posts.

Oh and per that discussion that hawkeye linked and posted from the past, wasn’t it ed who asked if you were being paranoid? But I didn’t see you call her out about that! So you selectively go after those who you don’t like because of what they say. But you don’t hold everyone here to the same standard.

Get your own house in order and stop making up things about me. It’s gotten out of hand.

      • hawkeye,

Sorry, but it’s a losing battle with this person. Trying to make a point with someone who is determined to twist, distort and misrepresent anything I say here, is a losing proposition.

Should I think that anyone is trying to run me off this site? Because this nonsense goes on all the time. Even if I try to ignore or make light of it, there’s no end.

For what it’s worth, I am not going anywhere. So if some people here don’t like it, then it’s too bad.

It’s YOU, NNY, who are starting fights in an empty room!
Actually, try to avoid thinking that the world revolves around you. And try not to play a role of an imaginary victim.
        🙂

        • No she’s never started a fight here that I’ve seen whereas you start plenty with your pathetic insinuations that begin with I’m wondering this, I’m curious why and tell me this in a very condescending and intentional manner.

It is YOU that starts the animosity here as so many have said.

          You are a troll.

Dear hawkeye63, you have been trolling here at least since last summer….
I remember Fed’s photo shopped pictures, but maybe you started already before that action, no?

  2. Rafa visited the Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro on Thursday.
Wikipedia: ¤¤ Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro is an Argentine sports club based in the Flores neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, though originally from Boedo which is best known for its football team which plays in the Primera División, the top division of the Argentine football league system. Other sports practised at the club are basketball, field hockey, handball, martial arts, tennis, volleyball and rugby union. ¤¤

now Rafa needs another 49 to best a certain Pete. injuries notwithstanding that will be before the fall season.
then he’ll need another 39 to best Edberg. early 2016?
don’t think he’ll best Guillermo Villas as that would need another 216 match wins. Should make Villas happy as that may be about the only record he will not have lost to others (mostly those called RN). Of course Guillermo played most of his matches just on clay.
And RG might surpass Lendl who sits at second place. He’d need 67 more match wins. And he does not seem to be anywhere close to retiring.

      • Actually there is one other record Guillermo will not loose to Rafa and perhaps to no one for an extremely long time: match wins on clay: 644 to Rafa’s current 322. Guillermo specialised in playing on clay.

      • another perspective on villas versus nadal: winning percentage on clay: 92:80% versus 79.80% (compare also to Borg’s who retired in his prime: 86.31%.

  3. chloro,

It’s refreshing to get back to talking about Rafa and his place in history in relation to other great clay court players.

I wasn’t aware of the information you posted, but it’s nice to know. Of course I remember Villas but didn’t realize just how impressive his record was on clay. As you said, he was a clay specialist. That makes it even more impressive with Rafa showing himself to be a brilliant all court player. His dominance on the clay is there for all to see, but he wanted to make his mark on all surfaces in this sport. He’s done it, too!

Ricky these are the sort of sabotaging posts that hawkeye will be asking you to delete because he is an impulsive poster who regrets his actions later on and it is ruining The Grandstand for people who come here for more constructive reasons.
