Kyrgios hits tweener lob winner in Madrid loss to Nishikori

Nick Kyrgios lost to Kei Nishikori in the semifinals of the Mutua Madrid Open on Friday afternoon, but not before coming up with the shot of the tournament. Serving at 5-6, 30-0 in the opening set, Kyrgios produced a between-the-legs lob winner.

The 21-year-old Australian eventually took the set in a thrilling tiebreaker, but Nishikori recovered to prevail 6-7(6), 7-6(1), 6-3.

  1. Beautiful match! Nick is such a potential, he is future of tennis for sure! And the lob winner was truly awesome!

    Btw, Nick lost in the quarterfinal not semis (although I would have loved him reaching the semi final 🙂 )
