Excerpts
¤¤ Some of Rafa’s highly developed and appropriately timed behaviors are attentional focus, self-control, perspective, self-belief paired with self-doubt, precision fused with passion, resilience, and always humility and humor.
He is behaviorally fit as a professional in his moments of success, as well as failure. And that’s on the court. Off the court, he consistently exhibits other well-tuned behaviors that enable him to be equally successful in his interactions with rivals, with the press, and with the community at large. ¤¤ [The Wall Street Journal, May 1, 2014]
This is not the first time Rafa has been cited as an inspirational role model for business leaders. I read a similar assessment of him some years back but can’t remember exactly when or where.
Rafa’s career has been enhanced by his triumphs and disasters. If he had had an uninterrupted easy path winning everything, that would have diminished his achievements.
Mutua Madrid Open FB, May 1, 2014: ¤¤ Rafael Nadal added the final piece to the world’s biggest Rubik Cube Mosaic constructed by just one person (40 hours of work, using over 5000 cubes), an effort undertaken by Ernesto Fernández Regueira, the world Rubik’s Cube champion.¤¤ https://twitter.com/augustazeight/status/461954207310807041/photo/1

¤¤ Rafa gave an interview to the IB3 TV and said, “I have to accept the truth, the circumstances and the way things have turn out in the last month. It has been complicated. I have positive energy and if something good happens here it will help my game and confidence”.
He also commented about how the way he plays has a lot to do with self confidence and to have the mind clear and strong; and the competitions that are coming ahead will give him the necessary things. Then he says how important it’s to win the Madrid Open and Rome to arrive to RG with better feelings. He says he will try to be very competitive and play well in Madrid and Rome. He says that the fact he might lose the number one is something that is logical according to the numbers, and nothing is forever ¤¤ http://ib3tv.com/20140502_214107-nadal-cerca-a-madrid-la-millora-del-seu-joc-a-terra-batuda.html

Madrid is the only ATP tournament that Rafa has played every year since he became professional.

Rafa would make a good subject for a film.

^^^Hehehe! I, however, draw the line at wearing a Rafa t-shirt as a means to influence the outcome of his matches!! 😀
I am watching the FO2013 SF – Nadal vs Djokovic, now.
According to Benito Pérez-Barbadillo (Rafa’s PR manager), Rafa is practicing with Wawrinka
