  1. Rafa is going to be talking about the Sharapova case on SKY at 2.20 pm today.

    HEAD has extended Sharapova’s contract.

  2. Needless to say, Mme Bachelot (former minister with Sarkosy…..) never knew a thing about sport (still doesn’t), and she’s talking completely out of her ass without any supporting evidence. The remark came in reference to Sharapova’s doping case about which, Mme Bachelot, claims not to be in the least surprised … it was at that point when, rolling her eyes whilst appealing to some common identity she said “We all know what happened during that 7 months absence of Nadal in 2012”
.. I am not shocked because the FR have been bashing Nadal on and on but I wish somebody from camp Nadal would really take appropriate measures; after all, this is coming from a former minister of health….

      • okay, let’s ASSUME this stupid theory that rafa was put under a silent ban in 2012. Here is how the situation went:

Okay, so, this must have happened because rafa was using something illegal during 2012. He was punished. He faced a ban. Rafa got the punishment and he vows not to do anything similar. Then, he returns to tennis………. andddddd……… plays the best tennis of his life and destroys in arch rivals and dominates hard courts and clay!!!!! Umm, he got extra strong after facing the ban, no? LOL LOL LOL.

HOW stupid is this theory! Jealous people. Groundless theories.

        • @ vamosrafa 1:52 PM,

          fully agree with you.

It really hurts me and all the Rafans to have to read about those groundless accusations. However, if Rafa’s camp would go after her now, the focus would immediately shift from Maria to Rafa and I think it is unnecessary complication for Rafa at his current state…Madam Bachelot should simply be ignored and scorned…

          • @natashao, you have a fine point there. Thing is, rafa is such a huge name that any type of comment from his camp would draw massive attention. So, they should ignore for now.

        • These allegations have always been toxic and unfounded. It’s unfortunate that this person decided to change the subject with Maria taking an illegal drug and in some bizarre way throw Rafa into the mix.

I have always believed that anyone who would casually toss out this kind of serious allegation without a shred of proof or factual substance, is beyond reckless.

A player’s integrity is sacrosanct and should not be trashed lightly. Those comments were outrageous.

          • How is it such outrage is not directed against the anti Rafans?? On the contrary the pious poster echoes the damaging comments made by a Nole fan attempting to destroy the image we Rafans have of Rafa as a ferocious on court fighter who is humble and friendly and wise as a person. The said Nole fan along with her gang has tried to depict Rafa as mentally retarded and also mentally ill languishing under the thumb of his wicked Uncle, a selfish team and parents who are either mentally retarded themselves or have abandoned Rafa to suffer the tyranny of his evil uncle and selfish team. Sorry that is a grave crime against the legendary Rafa.

    • Shireling (AT 1:43 PM),

Her “knowledge” obviously comes from reading comments of the members of the AntiRafaBrigade on the Internet. ?

      • yeah…but the thing is, had this been for any other player, you would be amongst those who would start creating suspicion around it. I am sure there would have been interesting theories by many rafa fans here if it were Federer or esp Djokovic who’d taken a 7-month break…haha

        • VS, are you saying it’s OK for Rafa’s name to be tarnished also his character can be defamed and his fans should just grin and bare it?

          • no, it is NOT okay. Fans will and should speak out against it.

My point was to give out one of the causes for this toxicity spread all over the internet. There are fans who react vehemently if their player’s integrity is challenged but those same fans indulge in toxic behavior when it comes to the integrity of other players.

So, two different things. Die hard fan of any player, if he reads toxic stuff about his idol will perhaps also start doing the same whenever he gets the chance to slander other players.

        • AT 2:09 PM,
—there would have been interesting theories…—
          ===
          .
There is a time for everything, among them payback time.
          haha

  3. I doubt she reads much Mme Bachelot…
She’s a Dr in Pharmacy too, I wonder if she’s ever bother to even see any results from the multiple tests Rafa has to undergo …

  4. I think the Spanish sports federation should sue the French. Prove it or shut up. Interesting that posters like NNY and vr piously attacked me when I wondered why Nole was empathetic with a doper but they seem to be ok with all the scandalous accusations against Rafa for years.

    • Were they ‘attacking’ you or RITB?

Where have you two been over the last few months anyways?

      #CoincidencesAreEverywhere
      #MPD

      • Even tennis blog posters are allowed to dope eh, @hawkeye? I was in Latvia renewing my diabetes medication, whose side effect is to enhance my multiple personality disorder, which leads me to morph into @Mary suddenly and unexpectedly. Perfectly legal on Tenngrand until banned by Ricky, which I expect to happen after I start getting on @hawkeye’s nerves.

        • Oh no, not again *groans*………..
Look what you have started @hawkeye, AGAIN. I better take my leave before excitement levels get out of hand, again…………….

          Still love ya Tenngranders!

    • Who is okay with these allegations against Rafa?

Before you go running off at the mouth attacking me or vamosrafa, why don’t you read what we both have posted here in support of Rafa? Or are you just find if jumping to conclusions?

Read what I had to say about this latest accusation against Rafa before you presume to speak for me!

      • Please be more polite. You and vr think it is ok to be vicious and impolite when it comes to attacking me? You and vr maybe Nole fans but that is no excuse for your viciousness.

        • Quit attacking and instigating and maybe you will get a polite response. If you can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen. You have no problem throwing around cheap shots at will, but get touchy when someone gives a bit of your own back. Too bad.

You are no Rafa fan. You are just here to cause trouble and character assassinate other posters. You have an agenda and it’s about as subtle as a sledge hammer.

I defended Rafa against those attacks. I speak for myself. If you choose to make up stories about me being a Novak fan, then you are just in some kind of weird denial.

You need to give respect in order to get it. Keep that in mind,

Rafael Nadal has fervently denied ever taking any performance-enhancing treatments during his career, as tennis finds itself under closer scrutiny in the wake of Maria Sharapova’s positive drugs test.

  6. guess people asking Rafa those ridiculous questions are afraid Rafa might come back to win FO again…stupid distractors and haters they all are…Rafa answered the way he should…pure class…

Rafa should respond by winning the French again…they shall all shut up then…

  7. He responded firmly but politely to the press but my god you could tell he was seething. Turning the other cheek in the face of the enless smear campain has not worked: I hope his team does take legal action – it’s time somebody put a stop to the endless unsubstantiated innuendoes.

I remember reading some time ago that Rafa was tested (I’m not sure how many times) during the 7 months layoff for the knee treatment in 2012.

  8. Ricvky, Please moderate and counsel vr and Native who have been unnecessarily vicious and insulting. Till you do something about impressing on these posters the importance of not initiating personal attacks I shall not post. I know you are biased toward vr but I hope as a moderator you would prefer a civil forum. Anyway, I leave it to you. Thank you.

    • ‘ …I know you are biased toward vr…’ LOL….you can’t play tricks with Ricky. His way smarter. Stops instigating and focus on discussing tennis.

      #IndianWells

  9. I think it’s time for Rafa and his team to take legal action against this kind of thing. It’s slanderous and should be actionable. I don’t see why Rafa has to defend himself over and over again any time someone gets it into their head to do this. It’s happened too many times in the past.

It’s reassuring to know that Rafa and his people are finally considering doing something about it.

  10. Vamos Rafa!

It takes just a little more to be back on top of his game…he only needs to believe in his capacities…Vamos!!!
