tennisworldusa, April 14, 2015: ¤¤ New racket for Rafael Nadal! PHOTOS INSIDE!
The Spaniard, when interviewed about it by Sky Sports, said a few words, “I hope that this change will serve me to play better …” though he didn’t reveal any further details. ¤¤
If Rafa gets enough confidence back, or let’s better say when, then the thinking goes that he will have enough precision, control even with this tweak.
PoorBodo indeed. This article is an example of trying hard to make a point. Had Rafa not been around, who knows how each of those matches would have gone.
You might as well ask. Had Rafa been born 5 years earlier, same year as Roger, how would Roger’s accomplishments stack up then?
Or, had there been another player besides Rafa, between 2002 and 2011 who would be more or less Roger’s equal, what then?
I guess then by definition Uncle Toni is another unreliable source…
“They say it themselves and it’s true, the Parisian crowd is pretty stupid. I think the French don’t like it when a Spaniard wins. Wanting someone to lose is a slightly conceited way of amusing yourself. They show the stupidity of people who think themselves superior.”
“Rafa is a good man. What happened to him against Soderling, it was just unthinkable. A four-time winner of Roland Garros cannot be whistled against a player who was not exactly the friendliest in the world! The French love the beautiful game. Rafael is Spanish, it is another [game]. And he also beat Federer.”
After his defeat by Soderling Rafael Nadal said it appeared the crowd had been supporting the Swede rather than him at one point, which he considered a sad reflection on the spectators’ attitude to the game. “This tournament is so important, such a beautiful tournament for me. Well, that’s the way it is,” he said. “But I wish when I’m back they can support me a bit more in key moments.”

Rafa & Toni Nadal have nothing to do with the imaginary stories constructed by those to whom It’s their bread and butter:
No, we are talking about somebody’s accusation that sources that claim that the French crowd is disrespectful towards Rafa are unreliable.
Uncle Toni and Rafa themselves have said the same about the French crowd in the past. It is no surprise that the French crowd booed the scoreboard when Rafa came back to defeat Isner. Someone claims (in desperation) without any facts that it was American fans.
No, that is what you are talking about to avoid my pointing out your inconsistent delusional arguments about the French crowd being unfair and disrespectful to Rafa, something that even Uncle Toni and Rafa have alluded to.
There are only one so-called fans I know who believe this is an imaginary story.
I believe Darren Cahill and Cheryl Murray of whom I have the utmost respect. This is the commonly accepted view, not the view of delusional revisionists who claim to be real Rafans (one of which continues to defend Cry Baby behaviour).
This behaviour is in alignment with the French crowd’s disrespectful behaviour when Nadal lost to Soderling which you have also denied even though Uncle Toni and Rafa confirmed.
Your continual inability to address your inconsistencies (that contradict Uncle Toni and Rafa’s statements about the French crowd) as a result of delusional revisionism is an admission of being caught up in your own (self) deceit.
“They say it themselves and it’s true, the Parisian crowd is pretty stupid. I think the French don’t like it when a Spaniard wins. Wanting someone to lose is a slightly conceited way of amusing yourself. They show the stupidity of people who think themselves superior.”
That’s Uncle Toni Nadal talking to Spanish radio after his nephew, Rafa, got bumped out of Roland Garros on Sunday to Robin Soderling. (via The Guardian)
The Swede underdog was buoyed by the cheers of the French crowd, which offered little love to the four-time defending champion. In key points of the match, the stands shuddered under cheers of “Ro-bin! Ro-bin!” John McEnroe quipped that Soderling had never experienced such support – in Sweden.
Nadal noticed, too:
“This tournament is so important, such a beautiful tournament for me. . .I wish when I’m back they (the crowd) can support me a bit more in key moments.”
No, they are yours. You are alone in your denial that the French crowd has been disrespectful towards Rafa. You have called such opinions unreliable and with questionable motivations. Opinions shared by Rafa and Toni..
I am pleased to read Rafa’s words. He sounds like a man who has lifted a great burden off himself. It’s a wonderful thing when the demons and fears are out of the way and Rafa can play freely. He also was right to remind everyone that this is what happens when a player is off for a long time.
This is why it’s such a mistake to write off Rafa. He had to struggle to get back to his best form. Meanwhile, the eyes of everyone are on him and they are putting their own expectations on him. But Rafa has been smart enough to just stay the course and realize that it will take time for him to sort it out.
I just rejoice in seeing Rafa playing so well now. It’s a good thing! 🙂

By more effects does he mean more spin (more revolutions per second)?
Yes, more power and spin to keep his opponent pinned further back. God knows he’s not hitting deep enough this year.
This is why Roger’s legion of rent-a-spies were peeking through holes at Rafa’s practise.

Rafa tweeks his racquet almost every year.

I am not sure less control is what Rafa needs returning Isner’s serves in his next match.
If Rafa gets enough confidence back, or let’s better say when, then the thinking goes that he will have enough precision, control even with this tweak.
Maybe he needs a racquet with more confidence.
The real reason why the French booed Nadal’s close victory over Isner while Fed was still alive…

Rafa has a brutal Barcelona draw: Starting with Almagro then possibles Fognini, Andujar, Ferrer (again!) and then Nishikori.
Gosh, if he isn’t well and truly marinated, cooked and basted come FO I don’t know what will.
Vamos Rafito!

Exactly ritb. Nothing new.
So then Uncle Toni saying the French were rude to Rafa is reliable? Or unreliable.
And Rafa’s statement calling out the French crowd by saying he hoped they would be more supportive to him in the future is reliable? Or unreliable.
