24 Comments on Daily picks

  1. Same predictions as yours. Then I see fed in 3 in the final. These conditions r just awesome for his game and he is looking insane this week. The conditions r different in NYC obviously but if he brings this kind of tennis there then he has great chance at capturing the title.

  2. I was gonna go with Haase in 3, Darcis in 2, Chung in 2, Mahut in 2, Groth in 3, and Schwartzman in 3. I know some of those already happened though.

  3. For Monday I’m going with these picks:
    Gulbis over Rosol in 3
    Kokkinakis over Dolgopolov in 2
Haas over Carreno Busta in 3
    Groth over Johnson in 3
    Klizan over Ilhan in 3
    Duckworth over Tiafoe in 2
    Comic over Giraldo in 2
    Chung over Paire in 2
    Bolelli over Delbonis in 2
    Souza in 3
    Young over Istomin in 3
    Andujar over Schwartzman in 2
    Herbert over Stakhovksy in 3
    Bedene over Cecchinato in 3

  4. Groth over Johnson in 3
    Chung over Paire in 2
    Andujar over Schwartzman in 2
    Bedene over Simon in 2
    Querrey over Bolelli in 3
    Janowicz over Rosol in 3
    Kukushkin over Anderson in 3
    Herbert over Baghdatis in 2
    Lu over Garcia-Lopez in 2
    Kokkinakis over Gabashvili in 3
    Troicki over Jaziri in 2
    Klizan over Vesely in 2
    Bellucci over Tiafoe in 3
    Tsonga over Istomin in 2
Sousa over Carreno Busta in 2

  5. Lol I got all the upsets right like Paire Chung and Bedene simon then ppl who I thought would win more likely lost of course so I was like fifty fifty on my picks today,

  6. Lu over Chung in 2
    Tsonga over Johnson in 3
    Janowicz over Anderson in 3
    Coric over Schwartzman in 2
    Herbert over Bedene in 3
    Gabashvili over Jaziri in 3
    Bellucci over Vesely in 3

  7. Wow I didn’t realize Querrey lost to Bolelli. I would’ve probably said Bolelli in 3 against PCB but wow PCB is playing well. But Herbert is a total beast right now.
I say Herbert in 2, Coric over Anderson in 3, Johnson over Lu in 2, and Bellucci over Jaziri in 3.

  8. I’ll go with Johnson in 3 and Anderson in 2. Jaziri is playing well though and should make that match tight. I would be surprised if johnson lost just because he is crowd favorite and has a bit more solid game with less risks while Herbert has the serve and volley tactics that I think could get him a tiebreak set but I feel like his seven matches so far should be able to catch up to him. I do think he has reasonable shot at Bautista Agut in first round in NY though if he can bring this form there.

    • That guy’s game is awesome to watch. His serve is like Johnny macs and his volleys are really good. His groundies are improving too. I think he definitely has good chance at Bautista a gut in New York now.

      • Yeah maybe but he doesn’t have very tough draw. I could see him making third round to be honest, maybe fourth. If u look at his draw, he could use his confidence to get through cuz maybe confidence could kind of overcome him being tired. Then again he had to come through qualifying too so yeah I don’t know about that one.

  9. Haven’t looked at results yet:
    Metz-
    Pospisil over Nedovyesov in 2
    Mannarino over Millot in 3
    Mathieu over Klizan in 3
    Zverev over Verdasco in 3
De Schepper over Roger-Vasselin in 3
Carreno Busta over Zverev in 3
    St. Petersburg-
    Gulbis over Baghdatis in 2
    Donskoy over Sidorenko in 2
    Janowicz over Paire in 3
    Youzhny over Robredo in 3

  10. Metz-
    Kohlschreiber over Millman in 2
    Muller over Verdasco in 3
    Herbert over Stakhovsky in 2
    Tsonga over Zverev in 2
    Mahut over Delbonis in 3
    Brown over Ram in 3
    Darcis over Lorenzi in 2

  11. St. Petersburg-
    Kokkinakis over Granollers in 3
    Gabashvili over Shyla in 2
    Rublev over Bolelli in 3
    Thiem over Haider-Maurer in 2
    Berankis over Pouille in 2
    Sousa over Albot in 3
    Istomin over Kukushkin in 2
    Becker over Golubev in 3

  12. Metz:
Pospisil over Klizan in 3 (very tough one to call in my opinion)
Herbert over Garcia-Lopez in 3 (surprised if he loses)
Mahut over Mannarino in 3 (tough one to call too)
Wawrinka over Brown in 3 (this will probably be a sloppy match)
Simon over ERV in 3 (I don’t know about Simon right now)
Kohlschreiber over Lorenzi in 2 (kohlschreiber is playing pretty well right now)
    St. Petersburg:
Gabashvili over RBA in 3 (bold pick but I’ll go with the upset)
Robredo over Baghdatis in 2 (should be tight though)
Raonic over Donskoy in 2 (two tight sets)
Berdych over Bolelli in 3 (Bolelli is dangerous but berdych should be bit too solid)
Janowicz over Pouille in 3 (tough one to call)
Istomin over Becker in 3 (both are struggling but istomin is in a bit better form I think)
Granollers over Sousa in 3 (could go either way)

  13. Metz:
GGL over Klizan in 3 (should be very close)
Muller over Simon in 2 (two tight sets with at least one tiebreak)
Tsonga over Mahut in 2 (one tight set and one quick one)
Wawrinka over Kohlschreiber in 2 (I say Stan in 2 tough sets due to H2H and more/better weapons)
    St. Petersburg:
Thiem over Istomin in 2 (could be close but he should have a bit too much for Istomin to handle)
Bolelli over Sousa in 3 (unsure about this one)
Pouille over RBA in 2 (picking upset for Pouille who is capable of great tennis; I think he’ll show it)
Robredo over Raonic in 3 (picking Tommy because he’s big fighter and Raonic is struggling lately)

  14. Metz:
Simon over Klizan in 3 (could be 2 for sure but I’ll give Klizan a set due to his form here)
Tsonga over Kohlschreiber in 3 (home court advantage for Tsonga similar to Simon)
    St. Petersburg:
Raonic over RBA in 3 (I’ll give RBA a set but Raonic schooling Robredo should help him)
Thiem over Sousa in 2 (he should be too tough for Sousa)

  15. I’ll go with Tsonga in 3. Simon is probably the more reliable pick but I’ll go with Tsonga to power through in a really tight match plus I think Tsonga is more of a crowd favorite than Simon. As for St. Petersburg, I’m going with Raonic in straights. I think one may go to a breaker but at same time it might be an even quicker match just because Raonic is rounding back to form and Sousa won’t be able to keep up with the serve and forehand of Raonic.
