    • I was just reading this online magazine, https://tennishead.net/wimbledon-2021-mens-singles-draw-prediction/, and feeling bad for poor Federer. I always wanted him to go out on top. Then, it became clear that going out on top was getting remote. Perhaps Federer could never see it that way, the way I saw him going. 😊

There are still those that think he can win this one. Chris Evert is one., Steve Tignor, another. I am more of the same mind as Pam Shriver, “I don’t think he should compete if he’s significantly below ‘Roger Federer level,’ and I thought the final two sets [in Halle] were significantly below that level.”

It’s terrible to watch him be so un-Federer. I can’t watch him. I was just lucky to see him play when he was peaking. I will remember him like that.

Ramara, I can never be completely confident about Novak. There were too many times I was in pain when he would get close but could not win Roland Garros. It seems there is no one to challenge him this time at Wimby. I am tempted to pick Medvedev or Tsitsipas.

Meddy is a silly pick, but he has been crushing the learning curve the past fortnight. First, he has to win Mallorca in the morning. Then I will pick.

      • I feel the same about Andy. I hate to see him lose to people he could’ve beaten with his shoe laces tied together.

        • Hey Margot, are you able to get on Tennis Draw Challenge?

I was able to fill in both WTA Wimbledon and ATP. But the TDC draw to do picks is down right now. I hope they put it back up so I can edit my picks! I forget who I picked to win on the WTA bracket and I picked Medvedev vs Tsitsipas on my ATP bracket. It was not serious! Oh dear,…

          • No, I haven’t been able to get onto the site 🙁
I know Andy’s younger but Fed has been in amazing physical shape up until now.

      • Also, Margot, I feel the same about Andy watching him play. But he is 5 years younger than Fed. He might still make a comeback. Not terribly likely but yeah, somehow I wish he could come out on top. Rafa and Novak will keep fighting it out another couple of years. It feels like Andy is in that grouping.

  1. I like the Joker vs Tpas match up in the top half; but there is NO way that Querry makes the quarters…and NO way he could beat Fed even if he did get that far! Fed can get quarters…as can Berretini

  2. I got my preliminary picks in then the site went down. They’re probably as good or better than if I put a lot of thought into it so maybe just leave them.I can’t put Fed to win ,sadly.

    • Well, others are putting him there. I really do not understand how. Maybe Federer will pull a surprise?

Makes me feel better that your bracket is down, too.

  3. Hello Elizabeth right back atcha my lovely, just celebrated summer solstice, after a difficult year, it was nice to be back doing something more positive, hope your well too 😘

  4. Brackets are working again! Now for editing my first draft – it will take all day and being inside is the best place. I will be over 100F today and that is too hot for me. I’ll post my WTA picks on the WTA page.

  5. Both my brackets are in but need a rethink tomorrow .
Bublik is a real dark horse, him or Dimitov?
    Thn theres Serena v Kerber.

  6. Hey to Ricky and everyone else!! I haven’t been on here very often for about three years or so now. Was just thinking about the site today as I was scouring the Wimbledon draw and internally making picks in my head. Been extremely busy for some time now, playing Division II college tennis and entering my senior year this fall. This was by far the most fun and most fruitful opportunity I’ve had to discuss tennis with other passionate fans, and talking to you guys throughout my high school days really helped to keep me in love with the sport of tennis!! Awesome to see RC/Ratcliff, Big Al, Sanju and all the other usual suspects still on here!! I’m gonna post my full tournament picks for this years tournament tonight. I don’t believe I’ve actually made a bracket for a slam in over a year. Looking forward to posting that on here later tonight. Good talking w you guys as always. Keep it up Ricky!!

    • Wow, there you are! It is so wonderful to read and hear from you again, Benny! Glad we could all keep you passionate about tennis – that is why I still come here. And to see you at this time, I must say: I hope you can post your Wimbledon picks. ☺

  7. Benny, great to see you again, looking forward to your insightful Wimby picks.
Both of my brackets are in after a lot of indecision, which gets worse with every Slam, esp the WTA!

    • I don’t think Benny does WTA. But, people do change.

Big Al, WTA is impossible. It really is this time. It could be any one of ten or fifteen players. Or, even one who just made the top 100. 😧

      • Yeah , I went for Barty winning, then reduced her to finalist, now changing again as she’s injured… perfect game to win Wimby, so she still could!

        • I had her winning too, my first go-through. And I keep going back to her. I loved seeing Kerber at her finest again in Berlin. And the match between Ostapenko and Kontaveit was great.

Barty is my pick right now.

  8. I made a bracket before the tournament started but didn’t get around to posting my picks here. Going to post them now for the heck of it!! But I got a lot of stuff wrong hahaha (and spoiler alert: I’m picking Fed for nostalgic purposes – some things never change). I also think Djokovic might be more vulnerable after winning the french and the energy/effort that must have required (though his draw couldn’t be much better).

    • Also by a lot of stuff I mean two of my quarterfinalists are out lol. I did ok w the first round matches overall though
