Second-round action in Sydney will take place on Wednesday. Defending champion Viktor Troicki is beginning his week against Tommy Robredo. Dominic Thiem, Gilles Muller, Grigor Dimitrov, and Pablo Cuevas are also in action.
(3) Viktor Troicki vs. Tommy Robredo: Troicki is the defending champion of this event, which he won last year as a qualifier. Although due in part to injury, Robredo is struggling down at No. 43 in the world. Troicki in 3.
Gilles Muller vs. (2) Dominic Thiem: Muller benefited from a worn-out Borna Coric during first-round action in Sydney. Theim is coming off a semifinal showing in Brisbane and is more rested than Coric because he stared with a bye. Thiem in 2.
Pablo Cuevas vs. (4) Grigor Dimitrov: Dimitrov may not be messing around in 2015. He reached the semifinals last week in Brisbane before falling to Roger Federer in three sets. This should be a mismatch on a hard court. Dimitrov in 2.
(6) Jeremy Chardy vs. (WC) James Duckworth: Duckworth has home-court advantage, but that may be the only advantage he has. Although both players are big hitters, Chardy owns the edge in just about every department. Chardy in 2.
(8) Alexandr Dolgopolov vs. (Q) Alexander Sarkissian: This is Sarkissian’s breakout tournament. The little-known American qualified and then upset Simone Bolelli, but his week is going to end in a hurry on Wednesday. Dolgopolov in 2.
(Q) Nicolas Mahut vs. (5) Andreas Seppi: It has already been a stellar week for Mahut, who qualified for the main draw and ousted fellow Frenchman Adrian Mannarino. Seppi, however, may be too solid for Mahut’s net-charging style. Seppi in 3.
Federico Delbonis vs. Teymuraz Gabashvili: Both players are coming off solid wins–Delbonis over Sam Groth and Gabashvili at the expense of Leonardo Mayer. A hard court should give the Russian an edge. Gabashvili in 2.
(1) Bernard Tomic vs. (WC) Jordan Thompson: Thompson got a retirement from Martin Klizan in round one. His fellow Australian won’t be so kind. This should be a beatdown if an in-form Tomic is focused. Tomic in 2.

Dimitrov in 3 (extra set in case of choking)
Chardy in 2
Alexsandr Dolgo in 3 (have never watched Sarkissian)
Seppi in 3
Gabashvilli in 2
Tomic in 2
Sarge won’t take a set
If by Sarge, you mean Sarkissian? I’d trust you on that one, Ricky! vote change to 2.
Yes
ratcliff,
I like your picks. I do think it could take Dimi 3 sets to get the win. We still don’t know with him yet.
I don’t know Sarge either!
Dimi in straights
Chardy in two
Tomic in two
Muller in straights
Dolgopolov in two
Seppi in three
Gabashvili in three
And I’m changing my mind about Troicki in semis and saying Robredo gets a three set upset. Besides I was thinking he would beat millman second round originally but I saw Robredo played pretty well and should be confident enough to beat a Troicki who could have some pressure on himself with defending the title maybe.
Dimitrov is a lock wager 100 units. I hope theim wins but dude chokes on match point a lot in reference to his match point with Kevin Anderson last encounter
any Anderson vs. Thiem match is a lock to feature multiple squandered match points
Anderson barely won and pavic lost in qualies oh and no surprise here….Fritz won I was super surprised
