Genie Bouchard refused to shake hands with Alexandra Dulgheru prior to their Fed Cup match in the Canada vs. Romania Davis Cup tie. Dulgheru laughed it off at the time but clearly didn’t forget it.
The Romanian beat Bouchard then mocked her opponent’s no-handshake moment before meeting the Canadian at the net.
This Canadian shows worse sportsmanship than that jerk Federer.
For once, I agree with you @filter. Not to mention reeking classlessness, mannerlessness, rudeness………oh my. And then Mr. Karma shows up……..
Is this some kind of superstitious instinct on Genie’s part? If so, it looks bad, really bad. Whoever is advising her, she needs to fire them, tout de suite!
That’s the problem I think: either nobody is advising her or she is ignoring their advice because she is a pig-headed entitled spoiled brat. I seriously doubt anybody above age 13 would advise her to do that.
Hate to bring this up, but she’s a fan of Justin Bieber, that’s why. I’m sad.

“Bouchard doesn’t need to become a pocket-full-of-sunshine, not at all. There’s nothing wrong with being unapproachable, or a jock. I hate to draw the typical comparison, but…it works for Maria Sharapova. Bouchard will grow, and evolve. We should give her time, rather than trying to control her.
In tennis it is easy to lament a lack of focus, a lack of respect, a lack of effort, a lack of this…of that…but all of this really comes from wanting to control young players who need time to develop into their games and into themselves. What good does this do?”

Sooooo, my revulsion at bad manners, Genie’s in this case, is my desire to CONTROL Genie?? Well, colour me mystified. Here I was thinking bad manners were just…..repulsive.
I didn’t know Sharapova’s personality was something to aspire to. But then again, she’s laughing all the way to the bank hawking potential bad teeth and diabetes…………….
