In two events, Djokovic is five points away from 2019 London qualification

With his victorious performances at the ATP Cup and Australian Open, Djokovic has already amassed 2,665 ranking points. Matteo Berrettini qualified for the 2019 year-end championship in the eighth and final spot with a total of 2,670 points.

How has Djokovic done it? Well, prior to the debut of the ATP Cup in 2020 the only four-week stretch on the ATP calendar in which there was a mathematical chance to acquire more than 2,665 points was Cincinnati-Winston Salem-U.S. Open (3,250 available).

He went 6-0 at the ATP Cup, 3-0 in round-robin followed by wins in the quarterfinals, semis, and final. Djokovic defeated three top-10 opponents along the way. Following those 665 points, the now-world No. 1 added 2,000 from his eighth triumph in Melbourne.

It is also worth noting that after just one month of competition the current 2020 Nitto ATP Finals field would already be a good one. Rounding out the top eight behind Djokovic are Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, Roger Federer, Andrey Rublev, Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka, and Daniil Medvedev.
