  1. Woot, just in time for the end of 1000pt Wuhan.
    Thank you, Ricky!
    Nice pictures, too 😀

Speaking of one of your pictures, it looked like a bad year for Coco until she returned to her winning ways and took the title in Beijing. Can she beat Sabalenka to win Wuhan? Badosa and Muchova have both withdrawn. Thinking about how well both were playing in Beijing and that Muchova could use the points, I had them both going deep in Wuhan. With Iga withdrawing and Rybakina still not well, it seemed clear sailing for Sabalenka. My pick:
    Coco Gauff FTW.

  2. Here I was, thinking Ricky had posted two of the four pictures of Caroline Wozniacki. But no, the second picture has her name on the scoreboard above her head: M. Anreeva. Yes, Mirra is a good pick! Others have her winning Wuhan. I doubted Q.Zheng’s stamina to win her bracket. Most TDC brackets I have seen picked Sabalenka as the winner.

    Hello, Mira Andi. 😀
It’s nice to see you joined the Jalep_Wildguess ATP bracelet, and your picks are a mirror image of Big Al’s. Well, your picks match his for the winners, SF’s, the Final, and the winner. It’s hard to pick the ATP due to my tiny brain. lol

    • Ohh…hey hey hey RC!..hehe…yeah!…i’m glad i joined u & Big Al on TDC bracket this week!..butttt…where’s welshwitch & other’s ya?yoohoo!..where r u M??..it’s not fun just to look at u’re head & Big Al’s feet(my current position on TDC)😆..hope they all will return at Paris Masters!

About my Bracket..yeah..i messed up a few names big times!😆..tsitsi,meddy..what was i thinking!…lolzzz!

Anyway congrats for winning Beijing RC!..a huge winning there!..gud job!👍…see ya RC!

      • Mira, thanks for your response 😀 Farah Diba’s bracket is a welcome sight.
Hopefully, where you are is peaceful, and you and your family are doing well.

Yeah, my WTA picks for Beijing were almost what I expected: pure fantasy; I was dreaming. I think the welshwitch will be back, but didn’t she say she was having trouble watching matches? It’s not easy to follow when tennis is in China. Are you more interested in ATP than WTA these days?

It’s not a good sign for you to be hanging on the bottom with me in the ATP – go on, get back up there with Big Al! ☮💙😌

  3. Wuhan Semifinals:

    Coco Gauff vs Aryna Sabalenka

    And an all Chinese Semifinal
    Zheng Q. vs Wang Xin.
(Is the Chinese surname written correctly? I see it written both ways)
Qinwen Zheng vs Xinyu Wang (the first names first?

    WWW?
    Gauff over Sabalenka
    Qinwen Zheng over Xinyu Wang

    Final:
    C.Gauff over Q.Zheng

The top eight are down to one place left, counting that Barbora Krejickova automatically gets a place for winning at Wimbledon.
The leading contenders are Q.Zheng, Emma Navarro, Collins, Kasatkina, and Paula Badosa.

Chances to get points after Wuhan: Ningbo, Tokyo, and Hong Kong

with plenty of points in upcoming Tournaments

To correct the commentator on TC, Sabalenka does not become the #1 until after winning the Wuhan event on Monday, Oct.14, and the 5-week Official WTA Ranking
    Updates. 😀 Nit picky me.

In the live ranking, Iga is #1
The Live Race Ranking should update any second now, lol

  5. Congratulations to Big Al for winning both ATP and WTA brackets this week!
Farah Diba came in second in the ATP contest. Great job, and thanks again for joining the shrinking Jalep_Wildguess bracket.

Congrats to Sabalenka on winning the 1000-point Wuhan Title, which elevates her to the #1 spot for the second time.

WTA players still have room to collect points in Ningbo and Osaka this week.
The star-studded Ningbo 500 tournament draw has many big names! It looks like fun for any WTA fan, including Paula Badosa, Barbora Krejcikova, Karolina Muchova, Jasmine Paolini, Qinwen Zheng, Emma Navarro, Mirra Andreeva, Anna Kalinskaya, Beatriz Haddad Maia, and Daria Kasatkina.

The 250-point Osaka draw appears to have players like Veronika Kudermetova, Leylah Fernandez, and Elise Mertens looking to improve their ranking ahead of 2O25.

Next week, we will see the return of #1 seeded Jessica Pegula in the 500 pt. Tokyo draw and a slew of ambitious Road Warriors from the Ningbo draw. Depending on their success in Ningbo, I suspect some withdrawals.

  6. By the way, Bracket Troopers

Finally, it is confirmed: I have a home in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho, and will move next week. I am unsure how long I will remain in the North Idaho resort town where I grew up. Spending a cold winter and a cool, comfortable summer there means a significant relief from triple-digit heat! I hope to return online before the November WTA finals. Stay safe and good luck 🎃👻

  7. Thanks! Hope your move goes well. I couldn’t handle that weather. Rains a lot here but it’s a lovely temperate climate overall
