Fellow players, past and present alike, were active on Twitter both during and after the U.S. Open men’s singles final between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Rafael Nadal Perera... Legend
— Andy Murray (@andy_murray) September 10, 2013
Steve Darcis missed a trick there. Why didn’t he tweet:
……….and to think I beat you two months ago
That would have been insincere. It would have been a put down rather than congratulations.
I think the person who really missed a trick is Rosol. After all, unlike Darcis, he actually has a winning record against Rafa. Unfortunately, he just comes across as a humorless, envious bully with his apparent silence.
You have an in-built distrust of my intentions Naddy!
It was not intended as a ‘put down’ merely an ironical ‘tongue in the cheek’ tweet.
Interesting selection…. is it just me, or does someone else detect at least 4 tweets, which have a distinct taste, or should I say ‘haut gout’, especially no 1 and no 22, not sure about Jamie Murray’s tweet, which is probably supposed to be funny.
Love Steve Darcis’ reaction. He belongs to an exclusive club of three after all.
I have goosebumps. But where is Horacio Zeballos’ tweet?
Here is Rafa’s new “This is Sports Center” commercial. 🙂
