Nadal spends part of offseason watching Tiger Woods in the Bahamas

The tennis part of Rafael Nadal’s offseason will begin soon enough, but last weekend the offseason involved his second favorite sport: golf. Nadal was vacationing with friends and family in the Bahamas and stopped by the Hero World Challenge to watch Tiger Woods and many of the other best golfers in the world.

Woods, who sat in Nadal’s box for the Spaniard’s U.S. Open semifinal win over Juan Martin Del Potro, was playing for the first time since February following a long layoff due to back surgery. The 41-year-old finished in a tie for ninth place at 8-under par.

Nadal is scheduled to begin training later this week in Mallorca, where good friend Joao Sousa will once again be his practice partner. The world No. 1 is also on the schedule for December’s prestigious six-man Abu Dhabi exhibition, just prior to the beginning of the 2018 season.
