Maybe. But there’s got to be easier ways of making a living than the Challenger tour. But there’s an old story about David Ferrer getting really discouraged in his youth, decided he just couldn’t cut it, hung up […]

Djocovid was not exactly giving his best effort. Or, well, let’s just say he wasn’t feeling it today. But he’s pleased to be moving on.

Would work for me. Anyone stand out?

I guess NoVax just “wasn’t in the mood” today…
For someone who’s done a lot of winning this year, he’s sure screwed up a lot. Wonder who’s going to get the Sportsmanship award this year? Thiem, maybe? Rafa […]

Dimi in 3! Yay, I got it right for once!

Surprising there’s not much love for last year’s finalists, Tsitsi and Thiem (1 vote each), in the poll so far while Medvedev who’s looked pretty lackluster for most of the year has 5 votes.
Djokovic is leading […]

I think if you’re built like Rafa “least preferred” = “most challenging” and he *loves* a challenge.

Beats me. My best guess is he doesn’t want to get out of training. Rafa had a real struggle to get back in top form after his pandemic layoff. Besides he really likes competing. But he clearly does not like […]

A better question is how many df’s will AZ and FAA produce in this match up?

Maybe he thought he’d be sent to Siberia, his wife deported and their baby placed in a Russian orphanage. He’s Sam Querrey. He panicked and fled. Never has been the sharpest knife in the drawer. Why on earth did […]

The RG final is up now! There’s a link to it from @sitanyusha’s twitter thread. I just watched the first game, appears to be from Eurosport and no commentary – which is a huge bonus in my book. Very nice quality […]

Rafa’s coaches argued for open roof. By clay standards it didn’t rain that much. The coaches suggested that Rafa speak to the tournament officials, but Rafa said he’d just go play. He didn’t want a wet gooey court […]

It isn’t Rafa’s losses that hurt the most. It’s the injuries that are devastating. Dealing with those just gets more difficult. How he does it, I’ll never know. Rafa can take losses without drama. As long as he […]

Rafa said he’d decide about his schedule “soon” so best to just wait and see. No need to speculate.
As for the GOAT race, for me there will always be three GOATs, each with his own strengths and weaknesses and […]

Don’t think so. Even Novak isn’t conceited enough to believe that Rafa at RG will be a pushover.
Djoker at AO will be a huge threat to win as long as he plays. There’s a comfort/confidence in coming back to a […]

Not the same player. Better! Incredible runs in 2013 on both clay and hard. Wimbledon Final 2008 will always top my long list but there are so many others. We are blessed. Tough times, followed by triumphs. Every […]

You can’t call Hawkeye on clay! Novak asked the umpire to check the mark and accepted the out call so it was a double fault and cost him that game.
Hawkeye is pretty good but only accurate to a degree – the […]

Well, actually, in Ricky’s poll I was one of the few that went with Rafa in 3. But I didn’t actually *believe* it. Djoker came out rather flat. I dunno, maybe he thought he’d just stomp all over Rafa the way […]

Rafa said he’ll take a look at the schedule in the next few days, along with team/fam and make decisions. He’s been kinda focused on RG for the past few weeks. 🙂
