Ramara commented on the post, Australian Open men's singles full tournament picks 3 years, 10 months ago
I dunno. Thiem didn’t look good in the ATP Cup. He may be troubled by the increased court speed, much faster this year than last year, they say. Rafa may also have problems with it, especially if his back is still […]

Ramara commented on the post, 2021 Australian Open men’s singles draw analysis 3 years, 10 months ago
Thanks for the analysis, Ricky, but after watching some of the run-up tournaments what we really need is health checks! Playing tournaments the week before a major after a lot of down time really isn’t working […]

If Med gets to the final, I think he’ll win. Tiggy’s not always wrong though, more like 50-50. He does tend to go with the seeds.

I believe NK is injured. Or thinks he is. Whatever.

Ramara commented on the post, Djokovic saves Serbia, Spain wins at ATP Cup without Nadal 3 years, 10 months ago
No play on Thursday. Australia is testing “casual contacts” of the covid-positive hotel worker, ironically a part of the quarantine program. Stay tuned for further details. Rafa did an interview in Spanish for […]

Ramara commented on the post, Djokovic saves Serbia, Spain wins at ATP Cup without Nadal 3 years, 10 months ago
Update. Rafa won’t play v Greece, still not ready. Also South Australia found a case of Covid 19 from one of the hotels and is locking down. No matches on Thursday at Melbourne Park. (This is from @genny_ss twitter)

Ramara commented on the post, Djokovic saves Serbia, Spain wins at ATP Cup without Nadal 3 years, 10 months ago
I have not seen any practice pics. Rafa’s on the schedule for tonight’s match v Tsitsipas. He was certainly active during the tie v Australia, being Coachdal, Fandal and Bossdal by turns. 🙂
Tsitsi will be a […]

Vamos Spain!
Rafa’s team came through for him! Really hope his back is not too bad. PCB beat Millman in 2 sets. RBA lost the first set to The Demon, but won the next two and PCB and Granollers even won the […]

Yeah, there’s no way Rafa can play enough hard court to be #1 again unless by some miracle he wins 3 slams.

Ramara commented on the post, Six–yes, six–tournaments headline next week's Melbourne Summer Series 3 years, 10 months ago
Good exho match between Thiem and Nadal in the wee hours here. The other exho matches were a bit meh though. Serena looked good v Naomi or maybe Naomi looked bad v Serena – saw very little of that match. […]

Ramara commented on the post, Draw announced for 2021 ATP Cup 3 years, 11 months ago
Should be interesting! Russia, maybe? Can see Serbia being upset by Canada for sure, depending on Raonic’s form. Spain should make the semis but I’m not gonna cry if they don’t. France should beat Austria, if […]

Ramara commented on the post, Djokovic, Bautista Agut comment on respective quarantine controversies 3 years, 11 months ago
Awww, poor No-Vax! “I’m not evil, just misunderstood!”
RBA was on a close contact plane? Tough luck for him and worse luck that he complained about it to the wrong person. Hope he does not actually come down with covid!

Ramara commented on the post, Djokovic quarantine advocacy for Melbourne players both noble and tone deaf 3 years, 11 months ago
Tone-deaf, for sure, but noble? Maybe that’s what he tells himself, but what Djokovic has been doing for the last year and some is flat out power plays. He wants to be chairman of whatever’s left of the ATP after […]

Ramara commented on the post, Disaster Down Under? Australian Open quarantine off to ominous start 3 years, 11 months ago
The top men and women are quarantined in Adelaide because they agreed to do a pretournament exhibition there. For some reason Adelaide wanted the top stars to do it. Possibly because they attract more interest? It […]

2010. Nadal had a really bad stretch at Wimbledon (sometimes not even able to play at Wimbledon) from 2012 through 2016. He’s done better there since, mainly, I think, due to finding ways to prepare the grass […]

Also the older you get the harder it is to come back from injury. Time stops for no man, not even Roger Federer, although he’s certainly slowed it some. 🙂 I wish him well and will miss seeing him in AO.

Ramara commented on the post, Delray Beach and Antalya to kick off 2021, Melbourne the tennis capital for first two months 4 years ago
After 2020, I’ve had enough “interesting” to last me the rest of my life. Could we just have some “normal” for a change? (I suppose “normal” would include Djoker winning the AO yet again, so I could deal with not […]

Since I don’t live in Australia….yes, I’m sure my opinion would be different if I did but as things are for me it’s the fourth slam by a considerable margin. Maybe if they moved it back to grass… Ah well, […]
