Good point. Maybe for Djerker racquet smashes have healing effects.

No poll on how many MTO’s Djoker requests? What’s the over/under on that? I’m guessing Djoker won’t reveal the name of his injury because he’s embarrassed about how minor it is after all the fuss he made about […]

Yes, people CAN see through Djoker’s histrionics. Except for the molefarm, of course. Really, considering his horrible parents, who have spent his entire life telling him he’s God’s gift to the world, he’s not […]

WAhooo! Big grats to all the Rafans! I haven’t seen the match yet. Went to bed at 11 pm before it started but I woke at 3 am and HAD to check the score. So happy and so grateful for all the positive comments here. […]

H’mm, maybe Djoker learned from experience? He did a pretty good racket smash in Rome in 2018 v Rafa. I thought it was a good sign for him. That was when he was still suffering from his right arm problem and for […]

I dunno if he’ll win the tournament for the 9th time, but he’s in strong convention for the Drama Queen Award.
Djoker has become famous for his timeouts for issues of one kind or another (see PCB and various […]

From the on court interview: Rafa said his back has improved and he was using his normal service motion today. And he won in straights. So that’s good news. I’m going to take my own previous advice and do One. […]

Vamos Rafa!
Rafa seemed cheerful, even optimitic? in his on court post match interview. I’m happy for the win, but I wish he was playing The Demon instead of Foggy. Not gonna watch it live anyway. If Rafa wins […]

Ramara commented on the post, Djokovic survives–for now; rest of Australian Open in doubt 3 years, 10 months ago
Talented young athletes are brought up to believe the world revolves around them. I suppose it’s unreasonable to expect them to behave any differently. Well, and then there’s Rafa but from what I’ve read I guess […]

*yawn* Djokovic has been pulling this routine his entire career. See Andy Roddick’s funny presser monologue from USO 2008. Back then he was considered more likely to reach the “retirement” slam than the career […]

Thiem won in 5 after dropping the first two sets! Thank goodness! Kyrgios’ fans are so horrible. It was like – Thiem doublefaults, crowd goes wild, the whole match. The clueless McEnroe bros loved it, of course. […]

One. Match. At. A. Time.
Was a nice match vs Mmoh. I think for the first time ever Rafa didn’t have the biggest muscles on court! 🙂 Or maybe it was just that Mmoh was wearing the sleeveless.

Tiafoe was really fired up in the 2nd set but he couldn’t keep it going.

Vamos Rafa! This time of year I often think of Rafa’s super-difficult 2009 victory. And of Toni telling him before the final, “Bad as you may be feeling right now (after his brutal semi final match vs Verdasco) […]

Rafa takes his commitments very seriously. Always has, always will. One of the many reasons tournament directors love him.

Sugita lost to Tomic, but retired down 4-1 in the final set so Sugita was presumably injured.

@amy
Thanks for the updates. Sounds like Rafa has A Plan. He’ll do his best, as always, and that’ll be good enough for him so it’ll certainly be good enough for me!

Djokovic had Oz sprayed with anti-Nadal toxins in 2011, that’s what! 🙂
