Agreed, Hawks. If this were Cinci, I might think differently. Not today, though. I believe that when Rafa is in the form heโs been in lately, guys tend to need that extra bit of court quickness to successfully t […]

Hasnโt Rafa always threatened Fedโs legacy as โGOATโ? How was it any less threatened in 2014 than it is now? I think Rafaโs had just as good of an argument for greatest of all-time as Fed has for the last 4 years…

Agreed, Ricky. He was a pretty entertaining player when he was in his prime. And Iโd say that the career QF Grand Slam is a good achivement for any journeyman-type player.

It wouldn’t necessarily be safe if he won Dubai and IW and pulled out of Miami… It would just mean that he defended all his points through the March Masters. However, If Rafa managed to win Acapulco defending […]

Kevin commented on the post, Rotterdam QF preview and prediction: Federer vs. Haase 6 years, 9 months ago
Congrats Benny! I’m so happy for you, man! It’s been a long road for your boy, and he’s worked his ass off to get back to #1. Well deserved… Crazy to think that both Fed and Rafa were written off sometime in the […]

Wow, you weren’t kidding Olly- Fed steamrolled through this 2nd set.

Kevin commented on the post, Rotterdam QF preview and prediction: Federer vs. Haase 6 years, 9 months ago
If he loses to Haase, I am certain he will play Dubai, and he’s only defending 45 points there, so he may be able to reach #1 in Dubai even if Rafa wins the title in Acapulco.
Fed is up 3-0 in the second set […]

Yep, Haase is serving for first set! Fed may need to wait until Dubai if he wants to get to #1!

He is not playing well… I think the nerves over getting to #1 are getting to him more than he’d like.

Fed is already once again struggling to covert break points. He’s 0 for 3 in only the first few games.

Kevin commented on the post, Rotterdam R2 previews and predictions: Federer vs. Kohlschreiber, Rublev vs. Dzumhur 6 years, 9 months ago
He certainly could! Although I would only give him about a 10% chance, at best, of actually pulling off the upset. What drives you to say that a journeyman like Haase “will” win? It sounds like you mean to say you […]

Welp, it’s official- the only thing standing in the way of the ATP World Tour having a 36 1/2 year-old world #1 is Robin Haase… Although it would take an epic fail by Federer to not win, I will say that there […]

Kevin commented on the post, Rotterdam R2 previews and predictions: Federer vs. Kohlschreiber, Rublev vs. Dzumhur 6 years, 9 months ago
Yeah, Kohl has at least made matches close against Fed, Rafa, and Novak. In 2015, he came sooo close to beating Fed in Halle, losing in a third set tiebreak, and then pushed Fed to three sets later that year in […]

Kevin commented on the post, Rotterdam R2 previews and predictions: Federer vs. Kohlschreiber, Rublev vs. Dzumhur 6 years, 9 months ago
That was some great playing from Kohls. But like all the solid journeymen who just can’t break through the top guys, he just is never able to elevate his game in high-pressure moments. Obviously much of that is […]

Kevin commented on the post, Rotterdam R2 previews and predictions: Federer vs. Kohlschreiber, Rublev vs. Dzumhur 6 years, 9 months ago
That’s one thing about Fed of late- when he has close matches, it’s often nothing to do with his serve. I think a big part of his older-age success is his serve. It’s always been the basis of his game, but it’s […]

Fed just could not win a break point to save his life. Finally, on the 5th break point of the set, Kohls gifted it to him with a double fault. ๐

Just read that Fed saves two set points in the tiebreak. Kohls is taking it to him today.
