Kevin commented on the post, Barcelona SF previews and predictions: Nadal vs. Thiem, Nishikori vs. Medvedev 5 years, 6 months ago
I honestly can’t bring myself to pick against Rafa Nadal in a match played on “Pista Rafa Nadal”… I’m not being naive- I know that Thiem has a very good shot at winning. However, I predicted on here before […]

Kevin commented on the post, Barcelona QF previews and predictions: Nadal vs. Struff, Thiem vs. Pella 5 years, 6 months ago
I got sidetracked by going to deep into my “Sidenote” 😂, but I meant to say that I could see Rafa winning Wimbledon or AO again, and retiring in the press conference afterward. Basically a Sampras “mic drop”. I […]

Kevin commented on the post, Barcelona QF previews and predictions: Nadal vs. Struff, Thiem vs. Pella 5 years, 6 months ago
I’m with you, Lucky. I see absolutely no reason at all for Rafa to retire any time soon. There are only two reasons why I could see him retiring soon- 1.) He is playing through extraordinary pain that we just c […]

Ed, do you have concrete evidence that Rafa is retiring after RG? Or is it just a hunch? Did I miss a big announcement that he’s retiring?? I don’t see how getting married means he can’t play tennis anymore…

Kevin commented on the post, Monte-Carlo SF previews and predictions: Nadal vs. Fognini, Medvedev vs. Lajovic 5 years, 7 months ago
Not necessarily, Jim! Foggy is notoriously streaky. He could EASILY get blown off the court by Lajovic. Crazy- if someone had said last week that a Serb would have a great shot at winning MC, literally not one […]

Kevin commented on the post, Monte-Carlo Masters preview and predictions 5 years, 7 months ago
Just because of how the last 2 clay swings went, I’ll predict that Rafa only loses at one of the 3 clay Masters tournies, and wins everything else. Just like last season, it’s extremely tempting for me to pre […]

Kevin commented on the post, Miami SF preview and prediction: Federer vs. Shapovalov 5 years, 7 months ago
Lucky- if I ended up guessing correctly and Shapo upset Fed, and then Isner beat Felix, who would you pick in a potential Shapo-Isner Final?

Kevin commented on the post, Miami SF preview and prediction: Federer vs. Shapovalov 5 years, 7 months ago
Fed has looked really good considering his age. However, a first time opponent for Fed can be really tricky- especially a lefty first-time opponent. Shapo has become known for not being even slightly phased by […]

Kevin commented on the post, Miami SF preview and prediction: Isner vs. Auger-Aliassime 5 years, 7 months ago
As much I really want Felix to win, and I really want Isn’tner to lose, I think Isn’tner may just be a little too solid for Felix right now. However, I also wouldn’t be surprised if Felix won just because we haven […]

I spoke too soon! Well done Kev!

Kevin commented on the post, Miami QF previews and predictions: Federer vs. Anderson, Shapovalov vs. Tiafoe 5 years, 7 months ago
There’s just no way that one of the biggest and best servers on tour could potentially get double-bageled… It just can’t happen. 😂 Poor Kev. He’s just lost out there. Maybe Fed will just stop trying for a game t […]

Kevin commented on the post, Miami QF previews and predictions: Federer vs. Anderson, Shapovalov vs. Tiafoe 5 years, 7 months ago
I had forgotten until now that Anderson had been out for a while injured before this tournament. It’s pretty obvious in what I’m watching… Fed is playing well, of course, but Kevin just can’t get going. Also, […]

I seriously am DUMBFOUNDED that RBA won that match… I am so impressed with that dude. I was dumbfounded that he even stayed in the SECOND set! He seriously looked just, completely cooked. He looked like he just […]

Kevin commented on the post, Indian Wells final preview and prediction: Federer vs. Thiem 5 years, 8 months ago
Here, here, Ramara! How could we possibly choose one of them as objective “greater” than the other when they have accomplished such extraordinary heights in their own 3 totally unique ways?

Kevin commented on the post, Indian Wells final preview and prediction: Federer vs. Thiem 5 years, 8 months ago
I know we can’t really know what any of these players are actually like off the court, but… Does anyone else just get the feeling that Thiem is probably just the nicest, chillest dude in the world haha? I’ve jus […]

So happy for Thiem, though!! He seems like such a good dude, and he’s awesome to watch when he’s on! Hopefully this gives him confidence going into clay.

Kevin commented on the post, Indian Wells final preview and prediction: Federer vs. Thiem 5 years, 8 months ago
Fed just doesn’t have the mental fortitude to really compete at the highest level anymore. No knock on him- nobody does at his age. But it’s tough to watch him go out like this.

Kevin commented on the post, Indian Wells final preview and prediction: Federer vs. Thiem 5 years, 8 months ago
We could be in for a repeat of 2018 Final here. He seems to struggle the past year with losing belief in the biggest moments.

Kevin commented on the post, Indian Wells final preview and prediction: Federer vs. Thiem 5 years, 8 months ago
I’m really glad that Thiem is in the Final. He’s a guy whom I would really love to see win a Masers title finally. And how weird would it be if Dominic Thiem’s first “big” title was NOT on clay?? It would obv […]

Kevin commented on the post, Indian Wells SF preview and prediction: Thiem vs. Raonic 5 years, 8 months ago
I always forget that Thiem actually has a big serve. Not like Raonic, obviously, but still big. I know that Thiem is pretty much the hardest hitter off the ground on tour, but he can sure smack it out of the air, too!
