John Isner made a contribution to Derek Jeter’s website, The Players Tribune, this past weekend. In his piece, Isner–“a die-hard fan” of the WWE–compared some his fellow tennis players to wrestlers.
An excerpt from Isner’s segment on Roger Federer:
Isner on Nick Kyrgios:
Isner’s blurb on Rafael Nadal:
Isner writing about…John Isner:
The world No. 15 also covered Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Gael Monfils, Andy Roddick, and Jimmy Connors. Read the full story here.

Isner is right – Rafa is unique. 🙂
The Ultimate Warrior was the most steroid-pumped wrestler ever seen to man. Slight dig at Rafa there by Big John? Yes.
AT 1:00 AM,
I read here that in September 1993, Shawn Michaels was suspended for testing positive for steroids:

Any 35 yr old almost no 2 in the world is the doping one.

I don’t know anything about wrestling, but I thought the article was entertaining. Liked the comparisons!

I would never have guessed Isner was a passionate fan of wrestling. Well sustained piece of writing with lots of insights into other players.
I was particularly interested in his assessment of Kyrgios. For those of you who may have missed it I actually commented at the time on how pleasanly surprised I was by the imrovement in his court behaviour in the Miami SF. I assume Lleyton Hewitt was responsible for finally getting it through to NK he was doing more harm than good to his game with his relentless pursuit of notoriety and stupid antics.
I sure did notice your positive comments, ed. ?
He’s definitely improved. We all just hope he continues in the right direction.
John Isner is a sweetheart. Thanks for sharing, John. Keep up the good work!
Someone explained to Nick how endorsement contract appeal works.
