The Naples title comes down to Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti on Sunday, so an Italian is guaranteed to win it in front of the home crowd. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune are battling for the Stockholm trophy.
Tennis Napoli Cup: (4) Lorenzo Musetti vs. (2) Matteo Berrettini
It will be an all-Italian showdown when Berrettini and Musetti clash in the Naples final on Sunday. The week has been a bit of a circus, with moisture from the nearby gulf making the court unplayable at gulf and controversy from the tournament denying Andreas Seppi a wild card into what would have been his final tournament. Organizers probably don’t deserve it given their treatment of Seppi, but they have a dream final on their hands in the form of Berrettini vs. Musetti.
Although Musetti has not dropped a set this week and has not even been pushed to a tiebreaker, he has won just a single ATP title in his career whereas Berrettini has won seven. A hard-court surface also favors the world No. 16, who crushed Roberto Carballes Baena and Taro Daniel before beating Mackenzie McDonald in three sets. Berrettini should have a slight edge in what will likely be a competitive and entertaining affair.
Pick: Berrettini in 3
Stockholm Open: (1) Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. (5) Holger Rune
Tsitsipas and Rune will be going head-to-head for the second time in their careers and for the second time this season when they meet again in the Stockholm championship match. They previously faced each other at the French Open, where Rune pulled off a 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 upset.
Another Rune victory would not be as shocking, but it is unlikely. The 19-year-old Dane is coming off back-to-back three-set battles with Cameron Norrie and Alex de Minaur, whereas Tsitsipas has not surrendered a set this week and destroyed Emil Ruusuvuori 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday. The fifth-ranked Greek’s first ATP title came in Stockholm and his 10th will probably do the same.
Pick: Tsitsipas in 2
