Federer needs a clown for this circus

Roger Federer and Nick Kyrgios were not happy during their second-round match at the Mutua Madrid Open on Wednesday, as chair umpire Mohamed Lahyani was forced to make several overrules of terrible calls by linespeople.

Federer’s frustration boiled over during the second-set tiebreaker when an ace clearly inside the line was called out. After Lahyani overruled it, Federer told him while changing ends, “we need a clown for this circus.”

  1. wow…did not see this…I could not watch the third set but I was supporting Fed all the way…I believed Fed would deal with this young idiot…too bad the jerk got away this time…Fed did not play well and this kid was lucky to run into Fed like this…

  2. I don’t support Kyrgios or anything but I think it’s ok for him to be a bit arrogant. That’s what makes tennis fun. It’s interesting to observe different personalities. At least Kyrgios seems to be an honest guy.
