Eisenhower Cup mixed doubles to return at Indian Wells Masters

The Indian Wells Masters will once again kick off with the Eisenhower Cup, an eight-team mixed doubles event. It will take place on Tuesday, March 4 at 7:00 pm PT in Stadium 2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

From the tournament website: “The event features a fast-paced, energetic Tie Break Tens format consisting of first to ten-point tie break matches in an eight-team single elimination draw, with a total of seven matches taking place across the night.”

Six of the eight pairings were announced on Thursday, with two more to come. Here they are:

Aryna Sabalenka and Taylor Fritz
Emma Navarro and Ben Shelton
Madison Keys and Tommy Paul
Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas
Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur
Maria Sakkari and Casper Ruud

Navarro and Shelton won the event in 2024, beating Badosa and Tsitsipas in the final. Sabalenka and Fritz triumphed in 2023, getting the best of Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz.

Main-draw action at the BNP Paribas Open will begin on Wednesday, March 5. Carlos Alcaraz is the two-time defending champion on the men’s side, while Swiatek defeated Sakkari in the women’s title match last spring. Sakkari is a two-time runner-up in Indian Wells.
