Alex de Minaur won the UTS Grand Final in London on Sunday, beating Holger Rune 14-8, 14-11, 16-10 for the title.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend in London,” De Minaur assured. “I think there were a lot of the Aussies in the crowd; felt a lot like home.”

The last UTS event of 2024 featured a field of eight players in two groups of four. Ugo Humbert, Gael Monfils, Andrey Rublev, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Jan-Lennard Struff, and Alexander Bublik also made the trip to London. Humbert and Monfils joined De Minaur and Rune in the semifinals.

De Minaur went undefeated throughout the event, going 3-0 in round-robin play with victories over Rune, Struff, and Bublik. The world No. 9 then defeated Monfils earlier on Sunday in the semis before triumphing over Rune.

“It definitely has been the best season yet, but I don’t think it’s going to be the best season of my career,” De Minaur reflected on his 2024 campaign that resulted in a Nitto ATP Finals berth. “I want to keep on improving–keep on being better. I want to use everything I’ve learnt this year and put it towards 2025.”
