Brown goes behind the back at Bergamo Challenger

Four days after the best of Dustin Brown was on display, the other side of the flamboyant German reared its ugly head. Last Saturday, Brown led Richard Gasquet 6-1, 3-0 in the Montpellier semifinals (he ended up losing in three sets). During first-round action at the Bergamo Challenger on Wednesday, Rafael Nadal’s 2015 Wimbledon conqueror lost to world No. 212 Aldin Setkic 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(4). Brown blasted 16 aces but double-faulted an outrageous 14 times.

Despite the dreadful loss, Brown hit the highlight reel with a behind-the-back winning volley early in the first set.
