The historic Queen’s Club in London always welcomes a stellar field to its grounds and the 2024 tournament is no exception.
Reigning French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz headlines the Cinch Championships field as the No. 1 seed and he is joined by Alex de Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov, and wild card Andy Murray. Behind Alcaraz, De Minaur, and Dimitrov, the remaining seeded players are Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton, Holger Rune, and Ugo Humbert. In addition to Murray, the unseeded contingent also includes Lorenzo Musetti, Milos Raonic, Cameron Norrie, Sebastian Korda, Karen Khachanov, Jack Draper, and Francisco Cerundolo.
Both De Minaur and Korda will be making quick turnarounds following the Libema Open in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. They are facing each other for the title of that grass-court event on Sunday.
Alcaraz will be back in action for the first time since triumphing at Roland Garros. The 21-year-old Spaniard won both his semifinal match (against Jannik Sinner) and the final (against Alexander Zverev) in five sets. He climbed from No. 3 in the world to No. 2, while Sinner also passed Novak Djokovic and moved up to No. 1 for the first time in his career.
Up first for Alcaraz at Queen’s Club is Francisco Cerundolo, who lost to Djokovic in a five-set thriller in Paris (Djokovic was forced to withdraw following their fourth-round contest). Also in the top half of the Queen’s Club bracket are Paul, Dimitrov, Humbert, Korda, and Khachanov.
Murray has a manageable draw in what is presumably his last appearance at one of his favorite tournaments. The 37-year-old Scot opens with a qualifier before likely facing Rune in round two. Also in the bottom half are De Minaur, Fritz, Shelton, and Musetti.
