No changes to Nitto ATP Finals top eight with two weeks remaining

Despite considerable points grabs at the Swiss Indoors Basel and Erste Bank Open, there was no change in the top eight of the race to the Nitto ATP Finals. Most of the outside contenders–and even some of the players who are currently in qualifying position–lost early at either of the two ATP 500 events.

This coming week’s Rolex Paris Masters offers the last huge points haul prior to the year-end championship, but it won’t officially decide the race. A pair of 250s in Belgrade and Metz are on the schedule following Paris.

Here are the current standings with two weeks remaining (top four players have clinched):

2. Alexander Zverev – 6720 points
3. Carlos Alcaraz – 6325 points
4. Daniil Medvedev – 4830 points

5. Taylor Fritz – 4300 points
6. Novak Djokovic – 3910 points
7. Casper Ruud – 3855 points
8. Andrey Rublev – 3720 points

9. Alex de Minaur – 3555 points
10. Grigor Dimitrov – 3160 points
11. Tommy Paul – 3145 points
12. Stefanos Tsitsipas – 2975 points

To pass Rublev at the Paris Masters, De Minaur would have to reach at least the quarterfinals. If Rublev wins one match, De Minaur would have to reach at least the semis. Dimitrov and Paul would have to reach at least the final to have a chance of breaking into the top eight prior to Belgrade and Metz. Tsitsipas would have to win the title.
