Nothing extraordinary about this year’s Wimbledon. We don’t need another Wimbledon like this ever again. Scores of injuries and both men’s and ladies’ finals were lack lustre and disappointing. Only the final game in the men’s final was watchable.
Andy Murray made history, that’s all. Otherwise, a forgettable 2 weeks.
I love Wimbledon but this year it was a damp squib. Only the Brits think it was extraordinary. If an Argentinian or a Latvian or even a Canadian or an American had won it there wouldn’t have been so much hype about it. There were too many injuries and withdrawals for it to be regarded as extraordinary.
It was unusual but not extraordinary. The FO was far more significant with Nadal making tennis history not just Spanish history. Andy Murray only made history as far as Britain is concerned. Not everyone is British, sadly.
overall it was definitely not the best Wimbledon. Too many injuries and nowhere near as many awesome matches as there were at the French. Still, all in all a ton of stories with the upsets and Murray winning. So not bad, not amazing.
Great line up of pics to bring back memories of an extraordinary Wimbledon.
Love the shot of the Murray and Verdasco exchange after their match.

“when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life” said Dr. Johnson.
If you found this Wimbledon boring then you must be very jaded.

Bartoli won Wimbledon without beating a top 10 player……………..
‘extraordinary’.
