Wozniacki hits worst serve ever in Auckland loss

Caroline Wozniacki lost her rain-delayed match at the ASB Classic to Sloane Stephens on Saturday afternoon. But it was one shot–or attempted shot–during her 6-2, 7-6(3) setback that was more memorable than the overall result.

Serving at 40-30 in the first game of the second set, Wozniacki double-faulted with a second serve that did not come close to going over the net–at least not without the benefit of a bounce.

After finishing off Wozniacki, Stephens came back out later in the day to beat Julia Goerges for the title.
