The World Cup semifinals are here. Every one of the top four highest-ranked teams in FIFA and advanced this far and now it’s time for England and Argentina to take center stage on Wednesday afternoon in Atlanta. The winner will battle Spain for the title on Sunday.
I am 4-0 in the quarterfinals and semis, cashing Under 2.5 goals in France vs. Morocco, Spain 3-Way ML against Belgium, both teams to score in England vs. Norway, and Under 2.5 goals in Spain vs. France. Let’s keep the momentum going and take a look at my best bet for the World Cup semifinal between England and Argentina.
England vs. Argentina odds
To advance: England -135
To advance: Argentina +110
3-Way ML: England +160
3-Way ML: Argentina +200
3-Way ML: Draw +200
Over 2.5 goals +130
Under 2.5 goals -160
England -0.5 goals +150
Argentina +0.5 goals -195
England vs. Argentina best bet: Both teams to score (-106)
Both England and Argentina have showcased plenty of offensive firepower throughout the 2026 World Cup.
England has scored at least two goals in five of its six caps so far in the event, including four against Croatia in the group stage and three at Mexico’s expense in the round of 16. Ghana managed to keep the Three Lions out of the net on June 23, but keep in mind that they generated two big chances, controlled 79 percent of the possession, and finished with 1.36 expected goals. Harry Kane (six) and Jude Bellingham (six) have combined for 12 goals in the World Cup. Both Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon have dished out three assists.
Argentina, of course, is all about Lionel Messi. Heading into the quarterfinals, the 39-year-old is the all-time leading goal scorer in World Cup history with 21 (one ahead of France’s Kylian Mbappe). He has found the back of the net eight times so far during this event to go along with two assists. But don’t sleep on the supporting cast. Switzerland held Messi in check last weekend only to see Alexis Mac Allister, Julian Alvarez, and Lautaro Martinez score goals — Alvarez in especially dramatic fashion with what proved to be the game-winner in the 112th minute.
Defense has not been a strong suit for either squad. England conceded two goals against both Croatia and Mexico and has not kept a single clean sheet through three knockout rounds. Since posting two shutouts to begin its tournament, Argentina has conceded in four consecutive caps — a stretch that includes two goals apiece by Cabo Verde and Egypt.
It’s also worth noting that this game will be played in a controlled environment with the Atlanta Stadium roof closed. Heat will not be a factor. Since Spain’s 0-0 draw with Cabo Verde, an incredible 24 goals have been scored in the last six Atlanta games. Yes, that is an average of four per game.

ANOTHER winner!

FIFA may be cheating, but not necessarily Argentina themselves
