  1. Sasha’s poor form continues, losing in the first round of Wimbledon; he’s going from bad to worse. I really don’t know what happened to him.

I hope Tsitsipas wins in five sets now, after saving MP in the fourth set TB. Come on Tsitsipas!

    • Tsitsi should win now but not very convincing. Zverev out which isn’t really a surprise.I do wish the commies would stop calling him the young Prince when he plays more like the head butler at slams.

  2. As I’ve mentioned before, Tsitsipas really needs to improve his ROS! His ROS really leaves much to be desired! He can’t even break Fabbiano’s serve despite having some BP chances in the fifth set. Now he loses his own serve! Are we seeing another upset here?

  3. I finally get to watch the fifth set of Tsitsipas match here. So Tsitsipas is out too, in R1, so much for him leading the charge of the young gen at the slams!

See, it’s better for him to stop talking so much and concentrates on improving his game! His ROS really sucks, totally clueless out there when returning Fabbiano’s serve!

Please for goodness sake go an improve the ROS, none of these youngsters are good returner of serves; they concentrate so much on the serve, wanting to be attacking players and win points quickly, that they fail to realise the importance of ROS. If you have good ROS, you may win your match a bit quicker by breaking your opponent’s serve rather than having to go to TBs all the time to win the match.

    • It’s also that Tsitsi lacks the killer instinct. Look at how against Stan at RG he couldn’t convert a vast amount of break points.

    • Good point re the ROS. Is it a rare talent in the young ‘uns? I’d think experience/age would be a huge benefit. So much of ROS is reading/anticipating the serve. Djokovic was very good quite young, wasn’t he? Maybe Andy too? Not something I’ve really thought about.

      • I think Rafa too has good ROS from young. I think to be a good counterpuncher, you need to have good ROS for a start. If I’m not wrong, Ferrer and Simon too are good returners of serves though not of the caliber of Djoko, Murray and Rafa.

Fed’s ROS is also good but not as good as those three guys. Fed relies more on his serves rather than his ROS when playing against big serving guys like Karlovic or Isner for examples, often winning in TB sets.

  4. Hahahah Zverev and Tsitsipas both lose this is crazy. The fan in me loves these upsets but my bracket does not. Ok looks like I’m watching as a fan now because my bracket’s got no shot. This is part of why I love Wimbledon lol. #GoFedandStan

  5. And what happen to Dimi? He won the first two sets, lost the third and now is about to lose the fourth set. Why is he always like that – starts well and then struggles mid way and many times loses in the end. Why must lose this way so often – wins the first two sets, loses the next two sets and then fights hard in the final set and then loses! Very bad habit, getting more and more like a Cilic.

  6. Dimi is 0-4 now in the fifth set; looks like the pattern continues, he’s losing the match from two sets up, he’s not getting anywhere playing like this. He needs help!

  7. This is why I never participate in whole tournament draws. Who can pick everything? Tbh, I expected Djokovic might have a bit more trouble than he did. He has to be happy that two of his biggest young challengers are gone.

    • Absolutely nothing – no reason to pick Stan other than he’s Stan. I used to think he was decent on grass back in like 2009. I just liked him better than the other choices in his draw — so I took him deep. Probably too deep. But I don’t trust Raonic or Cilic anymore.

Glad I didn’t pick Stefanos or Sascha too deep but still they did hurt my bracket picking them to both make it three three rounds. It will be a long time before I give either so many match wins in a GS bracket again! They all go in the Dimitrov bin until further notice. Monfils also cost me a couple rounds this time.

  8. Fourth round
    Djokovic over Monfils in 3
    Medvedev over Tsitsipas in 5
    Wawrinka over Jarry in 4
Bautista Agut over Zverev in 5

    Thiem over Simon in 4
    Nadal over Mannarino in 3
    Struff over Nishikori in 4
    Federer over Berrettini in 4

    Where’s Struff and Wawrinka?
