Thursday Night Football in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is a showdown in the NFC between the Washington Commanders and Green Bay Packers.

Let’s dive into my Commanders vs. Packers predictions.

Washington Commanders vs. Green Bay Packers best bet #1: Commanders +3.5 (+105)

This is a without question a possible NFC Championship preview. Obviously there is a long way to go before either team can start thinking about that, but early returns are encouraging. Armed with newly acquired Micah Parsons on defense, Green Bay kicked off its 2025 campaign with a 27-13 home win over the division-rival Green Bay Packers. Washington also opened with a division game and hammered the visiting New York Giants 21-6. This is a battle between two teams with huge expectations that are already in fine form, so Thursday’s contest should be every bit as good as advertised.

Second-year Commanders QB Jayden Daniels faced a stout front seven on the Giants’ defense and had little trouble finding success. The former Heisman Trophy winner went 19-for-30 for 233 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. Washington rushed for 220 yards in total, 68 courtesy of Daniels. Perhaps the best defense against Jordan Love and company is keeping them off the field, and the visitors would do well in that effort if they can run the ball with similar effectiveness this week. Following a Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year, Washington did not lose another regular-season game by more than one possession. Getting more than a field goal should be enough.

Washington Commanders vs. Green Bay Packers best player prop bet: Deebo Samuel Over 60.5 rushing + receiving yards (-125)

Unsurprisingly, Samuel made an instant impact with his new team. The former San Francisco 49ers receiver caught seven of 10 targets for 77 yards in Washington’s win over New York. He got only one rushing attempt and turned it into a 19-yard touchdown.

Given Samuel’s home-run potential every time he touches the ball, he should be in line for multiple carries against Green Bay. It should also be noted that the Packers now boast a ferocious pass rush thanks to Parsons’ arrival. Daniels will want to get the ball out of his hands fast rather than hang around in the picket, which means there should be a steady diet of quick hits to Samuel in the slot.
