Ten of the best talents 25-and-under to look out for on tour

Move over Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, and other big tennis names. It will soon be time to allow fresh blood into the sport. Most of the top 10 tennis players are aging and it is time to look forward to the next big sensations.

The following young players–in no particular order–have talent in spades; and if you love tennis, be sure to look out for them on tour.

Hyeon Chung (South Korea): Chung has won the NextGen ATP Finals without losing a single match and has broken into the Top 20 of ATP. His style of play is similar to that of Novak Djokovic.

Alexander Zverev, Germany: By now you have must have heard a lot about Zverev, because he is one of the next big tennis stars. At age 21, the German is already into the top three in the world and his accomplishments include three Masters 1000 titles (Rome, Canada, Madrid) and a quarterfinal appearance at the 2018 French Open.

Denis Shapovalov, Canada: At 19 years old, Shapovalov has become the youngest player ever to break into the top 100. His great moments include reaching the semifinals of the 2017 Rogers Cup, where he beat Nadal and Juan Martin del Potro before reaching the fourth round of the U.S. Open as a qualifier. For his matches you have to take your eyes off domino qiu qiu.

Naomi Osaka, Japan: Osaka is a bona fired star, having defeated former No. 1s Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams. She is already the reigning U.S. Open and Australian Open champion in women’s singles and she is No. 1 in the world to go along with $10.73 million USD in prize money.

Andrey Rublev, Russia:
The 20-year-old won the ATP Tour 250 event in Croatia two years ago before his quarterfinal run at the 2017 U.S. Open.

Jelena Ostapenko, Latvia: At only 21 years, Ostapenko has already won the 2017 French Open–defeating No. 1 in the world Simona Halep. Her best singles WTA ranking is No. 5.

Elina Svitolina, Ukraine: The 24-year-old is a magician on the court and already has a big title with the 2018 WTA Finals in October. She also bagged the Brisbane International title and defended her crowns in Dubai and Rome last season.

Kyle Edmund, Great Britain: The Brit holds great promise and now that Andy Murray has “retired,” Edmund can finally shine. His semifinal place at the 2018 Australian Open showed his talent.

Dominic Thiem, Austria: Look out for the 25-year-old, who promises to break into the top ATP rankings.

Aryna Sabalenka, Belarus: She reached the Shenzhen Hobart finals, making the top 50 in the process. She was the WTA Newcomer of the Year in 2019.

As you enjoy a game of domino qiu qiu, you will have to pause and watch the action when these upcoming players play. It is always going to be a thrill.

  1. I know it must be so hard to create a list like this.

    I think Felix Auger-Alliasame and B.V. Andreescu could be considered for this list.

    Anyway, I am Canadian and am obviously biased. Either way, I am very excited about tennis right now which I guess is the while point of the article
