Jannik Sinner announced his withdrawal from the Beijing Open on Friday. The world No. 1 has been sidelined with a knee injury since winning a second consecutive Wimbledon title.
“I want to send the warmest greetings to the Chinese fans,” Sinner said in a video posted on social media. “I’m very sorry to announce that I won’t be able to play in Beijing this year. My knee is not where I would like it to be and I’m not ready to compete yet.
“I will do everything possible to be there on court as soon as I can. What I miss the most is, of course, the tournament, the fans and the atmosphere. I’ve had great times there in the past, winning the title also last year. I’m very disappointed that I cannot defend it this year.”
The 25-year-old Italian is 14-1 lifetime in Beijing with two titles.
It can only be assumed that Sinner will miss the entire Asian swing, which also includes the Shanghai Masters. If that is the case, he will look to make his comeback on European indoor hard courts — perhaps at the Paris Masters and the Nitto ATP Finals.
The Beijing field still features Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Bublik, Jakub Mensik, and Andrey Rublev.

I know they are footballers, but Mo Salah, and Erling Halland both look much better with shorter hair, most men do in my opinion
Depends on what you like and cultural conditioning. I personally like longer hair on men who can carry it off. Short hair is very army, though good for heat dissipation. Long on top and short on the sides is also nice. And Brian Cox has lovely hair, though AFAIK doesn’t play tennis (but recreationally in a band).💫
