A huge 11-game slate in the NBA on Wednesday is headlined by a double-header on ESPN that wraps up with a Western Conference battle between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena in L.A. Both teams have come out of the gates quickly in 2025-26, as San Antonio comes in at 5-1 and Los Angeles boasts a 6-2 record.
Let’s dive into my Spurs vs. Lakers predictions.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Lakers best bet #1: Lakers -2.5 (-110)
The Lakers have enjoyed plenty of recent success in this matchup. They are 9-2 in the last 11 head-to-head encounters dating back to the 2022-23 season and have also won four of the last five games. L.A. is 4-0 against the spread in its last four overall, 6-1 ATS in its last seven, and 3-1 ATS in the last four H2H. As long as Austin Reaves (groin) plays, Los Angeles should be in line for more success on Wednesday. LeBron James has not yet played in 2025-26 due to a sciatica issue, but Luka Doncic is back from a four-game absence. Doncic scored 44 points last Friday against Memphis before producing a triple-double with 29 points, 10 assists, and 11 rebounds two days later against Miami.
Victor Wembanyama is doing it all for the Spurs, but he does not have anything close to his normal stable of help right now. De’Aaron Fox has not yet played this season because of a hamstring problem and rookie Dylan Harper will miss at least the next few weeks after suffering a calf strain last weekend. Jeremy Sochan, Luke Kornet, Lindy Waters III, and Kelly Olynyk are also out for San Antonio.
San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Lakers best player prop bet: Austin Reaves Over 36.5 points + rebounds + assists (-118)
Reaves has exceeded this modest 36.5 quota in all but one game so far in 2025-26. The former Oklahoma standout is averaging 31.1 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game. He scored 51 and 41 points in back-to-back games against Sacramento and Portland in late October.
With James still sidelined, Reaves remains the second offensive option for L.A. after Doncic. With Doncic having returned from his own injury issues, Reaves’ points could take a minor hit. But his assist numbers should go up. Moreover, the Lakers will probably do most of their damage from the perimeter on Wednesday–and that is where Reaves thrives. After all, the Spurs have Wembanyama down low and they are missing Fox and Harper in the backcourt.
