Nitto ATP Finals Group A preview: Nadal, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev

As Alexander Zverev said at Tuesday’s Nitto ATP Finals draw ceremony, Group A is Rafael Nadal and the young guys. Nadal has at least 10 years on everyone else and has six more year-end championship appearances (eight) than the other three players combined (two).

It is Zverev, however, who owns more titles at this event (one) than the other three combined (zero). So it’s not like Nadal is an obvious favorite to win the group–certainly not based on the fact that he withdrew midway through last week’s Paris Masters due to an abdominal injury. This should be pretty wide open between Nadal, Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Let’s crunch the Group A numbers prior its Monday start at the year-end championship.
