Third-round competition at the Miami Masters gets underway on Sunday, when Stefanos Tsitsipas tries to get his run going against Arthur Fils. Jiri Lehecka faces a red-hot Ethan Quinn, who won the Phoenix Challenger.
(28) Arthur Fils vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas
Although a round-two matchup with Alex de Minaur would not be a great draw for most unseeded players, Tsitsipas was 13-2 lifetime in the head-to-head series. Now he is 14-2 after prevailing 6-3, 7-6(3) at the Miami Open on Friday. It’s a much different story in the third round on Sunday, Tsitsipas is 0-4 lifetime against Fils and 1-7 in total sets. They most recently faced each other last spring in Rome, where the Frenchman prevailed 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Although Tsitsipas played well — again — against De Minaur, it hardly proves that he is back in form. The 27-year-old Greek is down at 51st in the rankings and had been on a three-match losing streak prior to arriving in Miami. Fils, on the other hand, is 10-4 this season and has not yet lost a match to an opponent ranked worse than No. 8 in the world.

Ethan Quinn vs. (21) Jiri Lehecka
Quinn is on an absolute heater so far in 2026. The 22-year-old is up to a career-high mark of 56th in the world thanks to a third-round performance at the Australian Open and a title at last week’s stacked Phoenix Challenger. Quinn has continued his hot streak with straight-set victories in Miami over Hubert Hurkacz and Casper Ruud
Standing in the American’s way of week two in Miami is Lehecka, whose form has been much less impressive. The 22nd-ranked Czech is just 7-5 this year after getting past 16-year-old Moise Kouame 6-2, 7-5 on Sunday. Lehecka doesn’t like it when his opponent is hitting even bigger forehands than his own, but that will be the case with Quinn on the other side of the net. Regardless of what the rankings say, it would hardly been an upset if Quinn stays hot.

The smart money is on Fils, but he could have played better and more impressively vs. Blanch, whereas Tsitsipas was certainly more impressive vs. de Minaur, plus he’s had 2 matches here, it’s a tough call, I guess I’ll go with the HTH here, Fils in 3, 3-6, 7-6(7), 6-4.
Yeah Quinn’s playing well, but the big question now is can he back up the biggest win of his career, I think usually after such big wins players have a let down, kind of a tough call but I think Lehecka will come through, Lehecka in 3, 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-2.
