Daniil Medvedev won his third ATP title of the season and 24th of his career in a 23rd different location when he defeated fellow Russian Andrey Rublev 7-5, 6-4 in the Hangzhou Open final on Tuesday evening. Medvedev fired 23 aces and did not get broken a single time while prevailing in one hour and 33 minutes.
The 30-year-old is now 8-2 lifetime against Rublev.
“There is always a tiny bit more on the line,” Medvedev said when asked about facing a good friend. “I think I handled it well. I played good in the important moments and I’m really happy with my level.”
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina went into 2026 having infamously never won an ATP title. The 27-year-old Spaniard is now a two-time champion after beating Hubert Hurkacz 6-4, 7-6(7) in the Chengdu Open final on Tuesday. Davidovich Fokina had previously gotten over the hump this summer on the grass courts of Mallorca.
Chengdu’s No. 2 seed trailed Hurkacz 6-3 in the second-set tiebreaker but saved a total of four set points to get across the finish line after one hour and 46 minutes.
“After that win in Mallorca, I released all the bad energy that I had in finals,” Davidovich Fokina explained. “I now know how to deal with the pressure in the tight moments. It was a little bit tight in the tiebreak, but I knew I would have my chance.”

nice one, ADF and Med
The question is, how will they do in next tournament? First round loss?
