The 2025 Laver Cup will take place September 19-21 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California–home of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
This is the eighth edition of the Laver Cup, which has been held annually since its debut in 2017 (aside from being cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic). Team Europe leads Team World 5-2 in the head-to-head series after ending a two-cup losing streak with a dramatic 13-11 victory last year in Berlin, Germany.

The Europeans trailed last year’s event 8-4 going into the final day and still found themselves down by four points after splitting the first two Sunday rubbers. That put them in must-win situations in each of the last two matches, both of which they won. Zverev kept Europe’s hopes alive by beating Frances Tiafoe in a super-tiebreaker for the third set, making Alcaraz vs. Fritz a winner-take-all affair. The Spaniard cruised 6-2, 7-5 to clinch the cup.
