The Brisbane International announced last week that Nick Kyrgios has received a main-draw wild card.
Kyrgios played only five matches throughout the entire 2025 campaign. He entered two events during the Australian summer (Brisbane and the Australian) before taking the court in Indian Wells and Miami. The 2018 Brisbane champion is ranked No. 671 in the world.
“Nick has long been a favorite with Brisbane crowds and will be a major drawcard for fans,” tournament director Cameron Pearson said. “He is a player who thrives on the big stage. I’m thrilled to welcome him back to Brisbane and can’t wait to watch him perform in front of a passionate home crowd.”
Kyrgios will also play doubles in Brisbane with fellow Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis. They won the Australian Open together in 2022.
This ATP 250 event gets underway on January 5, headlining Week 1 of the 2026 ATP season. Also on the entry list are Daniil Medvedev, Tommy Paul, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Jiri Lehecka, Denis Shapovalov, Joao Fonseca, Frances Tiafoe, and Grigor Dimitrov.
Kyrgios also has a Battle of the Sexes match against Aryna Sabalenka on his upcoming schedule, set for Sunday night.
