Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season continues with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium for Sunday Night Football. This marks Kansas City’s second consecutive primetime appearance after hammering Denver 31-10 on Monday night. Week 1 was a much different story for Indianapolis, which got clobbered in front of its home crowd 41-23 by Baltimore.

Let’s dive into my Colts vs. Chiefs predictions.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Kansas City Chiefs odds

Money line: Colts +240 / Chiefs -300
Spread: Colts +6.5 (-108) / Chiefs -6.5 (-112)
Total: Over 46.5 (-110) / Under 46.5 (-110)

Indianapolis Colts vs. Kansas City Chiefs best bet #1: Chiefs -6.5 (-112)

The Colts’ defense has had high hopes since acquiring Sauce Gardner at the trade deadline last season. However, early returns this year are far from encouraging. The unit got embarrassed by Baltimore last weekend, when it surrendered 506 total yards on 7.9 yards per play. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry went crazy; Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker III should be able to do the same. Offensively, Indianapolis quarterback Daniel Jones was playing for the first time since tearing an Achilles’ in Week 14 of last season. The Duke product threw for only 166 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Ravens.

Mahomes’ comeback from his own injury (torn ACL) could not have gone much better. He led his team to a three-touchdown victory over what was supposed to be one of the best teams in the AFC in Denver. Walker, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, starred in his Chiefs debut to the tune of 191 scrimmage yards (173 rushing) and two TDs. Undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson accounted himself extremely well at left tackle in place of injured starter Josh Simmons. If Kansas City plays anything like it did in Week 1, it should prevail by at least a touchdown on Sunday night.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Kansas City Chiefs best player prop bet: Patrick Mahomes Over 220.5 passing yards (-115)

Mahomes should only get better and better as he gets more and more games under his belt during his return from injury. And the 31-year-old was already quite impressive in his 2026 opener, passing for 184 yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos — who (at least on paper) boast one of the best defenses in football.

Up next for Mahomes is an Indy defense that allowed Jackson to complete 17 of 25 passes for 324 yards. When these two teams squared off in Week 12 of the 2025 campaign (also in Kansas City), Mahomes completed 29 of 46 attempts for 352 yards.
