Fritz uses feet for racket abuse at Maui Challenger

Fast-rising American Taylor Fritz took an unusual route to incur a racket-abuse warning during a doubles match at the Maui Challenger on Tuesday. After losing a point at 6-7 during a super-tiebreaker, Fritz kicked his stick–apparently over the fence.

It sent partner Stefan Kozlov to the ground in a fit of laughter, and neither player could recover in time to win the match. Toshihide Matsui and Dean O’Brien eventually pulled out a 6-7(4), 7-6(6), 10-6 victory.

  1. Fritz will be highest ranked at end imo. He’s got no points to defend until the end of the year. And Donaldson just dropped in the ranks due to his first round exit at the Maui challenger where he won last season. Tiafoe could too but I see Fritz just being ahead of the pack inside the top 80 or so. Also that was hilarious.

  2. Hilarious 🙂 kidz
They’re having fun. Maybe too much fun. I see Fritz lost to Duckworth. Francis Tiafoe beat Denis Novikov. Looks like a great challenger location. Love Maui!
