Taylor Fritz defeated Alexander Zverev for the fifth consecutive time to win the BOSS Open on Sunday afternoon. Fritz triumphed 6-3, 7-6(0) after one hour and 25 minutes to secure his ninth ATP title and fourth on grass.
The 27-year-old American has been plagued by an abdominal injury throughout the 2025 campaign, but he will surge back to No. 4 in the world after starting the week at No. 7.
“It was not so great a clay season, so to come here and start the grass season off perfectly, I am super happy to get the title and to do it here,” Fritz assured.
It was a much different kind of matchup at the Libema Open, with both finalists bidding for their first-ever ATP title. Gabriel Diallo proved to be the one who achieved such a milestone moment, beating good friend Zizou Bergs 7-5, 7-6(8) in one hour and 58 minutes.
Each man was playing in his second final.
“Oh man, I don’t have the words,” Diallo said. “It’s something that you dream of for your whole life since you were a little kid, to get an ATP Tour title. The fact that I was able to do it here after losing a final last year, it just means the world to me. I’m very happy, not only for myself but for my whole team.”
Bergs joked during the trophy ceremony, “Gabriel, man, why today? Why you got to play so good? So big. Congratulations to you. You’re a great guy, and I really mean that, and everybody should know you’re a great guy. But also your team. I love your team, we spent the last years more together, we practiced more together, and we will play doubles soon together at Wimbledon. So I’m really happy for you guys at least.”
