Francisco Cerundolo and Mackenzie McDonald will be going head-to-head for the first time in their careers when they clash in the Rothesay International semifinals on Friday.
With McDonald not much off a grass-court player, himself, the surface probably won’t be enough for him to get over the hump. Cerundolo has been the better player all year long and that hasn’t changed in Eastbourne, where the Argentine is yet to lose a set. McDonald is coming off a three-set thriller against Mikael Ymer on Thursday, when the American recovered from a break down in the third set.
Cerundolo played a great match against Rafael Nadal in the first round of Wimbledon last summer, so he know what he’s doing on the lawn.
